The Wisconsin Rapids (orig. Grand Rapids) Street Railway Co. operated an electric interurban line between downtown Wisconsin Rapids and Nekoosa, also stopping in Port Edwards, from 1910 to 1931. It was contemplated to be extended to Stevens Point and Wausau, although no extension was ever built.
