I heard a rumor that Desert Golfing just becomes endless, empty expanse at 10,000 holes. Could this be it? Donkey Kong kill screen coming up?

It was hard to parse 9 games that shaped who I am from 9 favourites, so I kinda blended the two. Tetris Attack and Rock Band were also huge.

9 game covers in a grid that includes: Outer Wilds, Tetris, Super Metroid, Myst, Mega Man 3, Yoshi's Island, Katamari Damacy, Shadow of the Colossus, and Hollow Knight.

Rewatching DEVS while showing it to my roommate and patting myself on the back that I tricked her into watching something inherently philosophical.

Control (all modern consoles) What if the X-Files through the lens of the DMV as a third-person shooter? As always, Remedy has incredible world-building and lore, and navigating the brutalist setting of The Oldest House is a joy. Plus, Control has one of the greatest musical set pieces of all time.

Screenshot from Control, showing Jesse floating far in the distance inside of a long, brutalist, polygonal chamber.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple and No Other Choice

Ralph Fiennes as the doctor guy in 28 Years Later only that part where he's made up to look like a spooky scary Satan man. He is surrounded by towers of bones.

Scene from No Other Choice where the man is lifting the pot high above his head intending to throw it down on and kill a man whose job he covers.

Kentucky Route Zero (all modern consoles) Originally released episodically, KRZ is an amazing narrative experience with strong elements of magical realism / surrealism. It's real, human, haunting, beautiful and touches upon themes that many of us can so, so relate to.

Good gracious I love a cremosa. Doesn't look like much but essentially an Italian soda with some cream. This one's blackberry and peach, and I'm in heaven.
