Welcome to Switzerland 🇨🇭 Our European Sleeper is bang on time, my sleeper room is tidy and in good condition, and the journey has been really enjoyable so far! Well except every toilet in both sleeper cars is locked out of use 😅 Way better start to this trip than my ES Berlin Paris journey! 🎉

Welcome onboard European Sleeper from Italy to Belgium! 🇮🇹➡️🇧🇪 Initially hauled by Arenaways, part of Renfe. I’m in an Austrian-registered sleeper that has labels from its adventures with MÁV, there are German cars previously used on SJ EuroNight in the mix too! Quite the European railway cocktail 😄

What a ride on the Adriatic Express 🚆🌅 The train’s only direct carriage to Warsaw? Not found in Koper, staff had no clue. It showed up eventually after 90 min waiting on the platform in Ljubljana Now our train has been evacuated near Tychy after we broke the overhead wires Warsaw tonight? Maybe 😂

And there was a recent tender published to lease more Vectron's which supports this. See this thread on the Danish railway forums: www.jernbanen.dk/forum1/index... But yes the Talgos still seem very unreliable, but it is getting better, slowly!

No he's right! There's pretty credible roumers going that DB and DSB are in talks to have DB Talgos take over most CPH-Hamburg traffic, allowing DSB Talgos to mostly be used on Aarhus - Copenhagen fasts. It's a measure to cope with further delays of the IC5 which DSB won't have enough of in time.

Also, strangely, despite me booking and paying for the tickets, only my travel companion received an email saying that the schedule and seats had changed. I wouldn't have noticed before getting to the station otherwise. My ticket was just quietly updated in the app. Renfe IT for you 😔😭

More nonsense. 3 days before departure, the train was moved 30 min later, instead of the nice booked Velaro, we’ve been "blessed" with a duck in possibly the worst-aligned seats imaginable. Such a shame. Spain has the most HSR track in Europe, yet it’s the network I enjoy using the least by miles.

Spanish HSR might be the worst in the world 😅🇪🇸🚆 Avril is a horrible low-quality train, cheap nasty 2+2 seatsin first class 🤢, ride quality so rough there's now turbulence on trains😭 Infrastructure is broken, our train got cancelled in Ourense after a 2h delay. Now to fight my way back to Madrid 😬

The lightrail opened fairly recently, and you might be able to spot test runs on the northern section atm. Nærumbanen is a gem on its own and if you can spare the time and like historic stuff Skjoldnæsholm has heritage trams running on a nice little loop like in a forrest.

🍽️ Romanian dining cars are so back! Even if the layout is still incredibly strange... 😅 IC 531 from Bucharest to Cluj and Arad is now meant to have one, and it's great to see proper restaurant cars returning to CFR's flagship trains. 🚆

Toddler will probably enjoy the control panel sticker in the front of the metro. Electric Habour busses 991/992 is a great way to see the city from the water and a bit of a unique transit mode in the city.

Probably not, but the DB introduction has been slower and more gradual than the DSB one who basically needed them ASAP. So I think DB overall is at least more reliable for pax.

Due to the trackworks between Berlin and Hamburg not finishing on time, the train is diverted via Stendal. This means it misses the bi-hourly ECE path to Copenhagen by around 30 minutes, therefore has to spend around 1h30m in Hamburg. Will drop to around 30 minutes once Hamburg–Berlin reopens.

There’s no direct mention that they’re only selling tickets from Bohumín to Frankfurt. Nothing in the other direction from Frankfurt TO Bohumín, or anywhere else in that direction. Which i thought would be an important detail for why it’s probably not happening. That’s what I was trying to say :-)

Slim chances of this going ahead at the end of the month i think. I'm gonna note they are only selling Bohumín to Frankfurt, but nothing in the other direction from Frankfurt. Almost as if they forgot to remove it from sale! My original Przemyśl to Frankfurt ticket still hasn’t been cancelled...

I’d stay away from them. No refund for a cancelled Hamburg train! They pretend the bus can keep the same schedule. It clearly can’t, and even the quickest FlixBus, with fewer stops, takes 30 minutes longer. Comparable transport conditions do exist on this route. Clear EU passenger rights violation.
