Hm. With that Ocarina of Time remake coming up next month, perhaps they'll quietly integrate that old fan theory and include the Mirror of Shadow from Twilight Princess as the Mirror in the Spirit Temple.

Just some a phone scribble while I was attending something.

And an old image of Classic Sonic in the Sonic Channel style before, you know, Uekawa made one. Plus eye colour variants. #sonicthehedgehog

Old Alpha Delta and Flick in the Sonic Channel Uekawa drawings from a couple of years back. Might as well put my okay-ish drawings on here properly. #sonicthehedgehog #sonicoc

Hm. Can't do much about bSky's lack of transparency beyond adding a white outline.

Just an old drawing I did, since I offloaded the phone scribbles. I was pondering at the time that aquatic creature Sonic characters, like fish and such, should probably be more akin to mermaids, so drew a Sunset Wrasse to demonstrate the idea. Never did anything with the design. #sonic #sonicoc

I think I'll dump some old phone scribbles. Just little doodles from a while back. #sonic

Honestly, it makes me think back to Starwing's character designs outside the SNES graphics.

Couple of my things, I really need to get around to setting bSky up properly... And the OC got a definitely-not-adopted-daughter, designed by my friend @greenacapella.bsky.social!

(5/7) So the 'cabbage' we see in Twilight Princess is simply Death Mountain producing a Lava Dome and related Spines. Most likely, it is due to erupt properly soon, or otherwise collapse, which may explain the shape and surrounding spines later seen in Breath of the Wild.

Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(4/7) But what of the large protrusions around the lava dome? Those are a related phenomenon known as 'lava spines'. They are magma pushed through a vent and cooled, resulting in the large spiked formation you see. They are known to curve, as seen in the comparison shots below.

Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(3/7) But there is a phenomenon that occurs that resembles the appearance of Twilight Princess' Death Mountain. That phenomenon is called a Lava Dome, where thick lava builds around the vent. As seen in the comparisons supplied, I'm sure you can see the resemblance.

Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(2/7) It is often noted that Death Mountain looks like a 'cabbage', due to it's rotund shape and protrusions all around the body. People often speculate what this might be as it does not look like the Stratovolcano shape it if often depicted as.

(1/7) Due to events within the Theorist Community, I will not longer be posting The Legend of Zelda theories after this thread. Before I cease, I would like to cover the Death Mountain of Twilight Princess, something that has baffled the community for years.

So there's a new thing we noticed about Ocarina of Time: When Link draws the Master Sword as a child, the gem turns blue and shows a mark on it. This isn't a lighting bug, it's actually a texture. So for some reason, this symbol appears when Link draws the Master Sword...

(62/64) Finally, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Simply enough, the game opens with time travel occuring, and creating a new world split off from the events of The Great Calamity 100 years before Breath of the Wild. Thus, a fifth timeline split.

Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(61/64) Octavo's taking the Triforce of Power is undone by Fate with the Threads, and Ganondorf abandons his music plans in favour of the original attempt for the Triforce. Effectively, the game is it's own timeline, while Link and Zelda restore the timeline to how it should be.
100
Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(59/64) Thus, it must take place before Four Swords Adventures. Except, the events would interfere with future events. Instead, I would place this as a new split, as the crux of the plot is that Octavo stole the Threads of Fate, suggesting he has hijacked Fate itself.

(58/64) Next on the list is Cadence of Hyrule. This game features a lot of elements from the Fall Timeline, including the type of Zora occupying Hyrule's water. Well, the plot takes place before the rise of Ganon. We know this due to a young Ganondorf cameo, as a young prince.

Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(57/64) This would also explain Ruto and Darunia's presence, as the ending of Ocarina of Time seemed to imply that they could not return to their people, opting to, at most, remain at a distance from the celebrations of Ganondorf's defeat. Just food for thought.

Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(54/64) Meanwhile, when The Wind Waker Epilogue is brought in, the story notes that the landscape is mysterious, unknown. Considering the others were identified by sight as legends and myths, while the Great Sea is mysterious, it suggests a Child Timeline placement.

Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(53/64) Next up is Hyrule Warriors. The game is a simple placement: post-Twilight Princess with a new Hero. You see, the game mentions that the events of Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess are myths and legends, hinting those events happened long ago.

Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(52/64) Link's Crossbow Training is simple enough: the game takes all elements from Twilight Princess, and otherwise can sit quietly after those events. The only oddity is the Temple of Time stages, but Link can likely just redraw the Master Sword to reopen the Gate of Time.

(51/64) Simply put, I've opted to have it as a sequel where he lost the fortune from Rupeeland and moved into a small apartment elsewhere in the world with what he had. Balloon Fight takes place within the book as well, to keep it all together.

Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(49/64) This, along with the fact that the games take place on three "continents", suggests that we're looking at the Great Sea of The Wind Waker, where the Great Deku Tree was successful in uniting the islands in order to create new lands for life over the old Kingdom of Hyrule.

Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(48/64) The connection is immediately clearer in the original, rather than the localisation: デスマやま (Desuma Yama) デスマウンテン (Desumaunten) Desuma. Death M. Where the localisation changed it to a still-similar Mount Desma, the Japanese uses the first three characters.
100
Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(47/64) Next is Mount Desma. The mountain is volcanic, with clouds forming circles around it's summit, all implying it to be Death Mountain with a new continent forming at its base. Oh, and a book outright says it was once Death Mountain.

Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(46/64) The design of the Great Deku Tree bares resemblence to the one from The Wind Waker. It also houses the Deku Temple, where a remix of Saria's Song plays, sounding almost mournful. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvp9...

Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(43/64) The simple logical placement is that the game is set after The Wind Waker, due to the general friendliness Tetra and her crew, and before they set sail to look for New Hyrule, as in Phantom Hourglass, as they're doing a "Pirate Test" for Link.
100
Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(42/64) The next entry is a game mode that was found in Four Swords Adventures. Navi Trackers, or Tetra's Trackers, was a game mode which saw Tetra testing Link by having three other crewmates disguise themselves as him. It's a simple plot and a simple game.

Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(41/64) Next, Ancient Stone Tablets for the Broadcast Satelliview. The game sets itself six years after A Link to the Past. Interestingly, it also gives us a time frame for Link's Awakening, as a Cukeman can say: "… 勇者は夢から出られない" "... The Hero can't leave the dream."

Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(40/64) Let's have a look at them. First, the Zelda Game and Watch. Taking into account the time it was made, and its plot of saving Link's sweetheart Zelda from dragons, I'd place this as a direct follow-up to The Adventure of Link, which had romantic undertones at the end.

Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(39/39) With that, we have covered the 'standard' timeline, where games generally agreed to be definite canon have been placed. But what about those other games? The spin-offs people generally dismiss as non-canon? Well...
100
Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(38/39) This is why I have opted to place the Four Swords subseries as a precursor to A Link to the Past, and used the early-in-Hyrule's-History The Minish Cap as the splitting point of the Fall Timeline, rather than Ocarina of Time, which already has two timelines to itself.
100
Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(37/39) I should note the game never said Zelda would die, only that she would never be returned to normal and be mere stone. This gives us a bit of wiggle room to allow Zelda's survival and the continuation of a weaker Royal Family as a result, if needed.
100
Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(32/39) I should note at this point that Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures are directly connected to one another: the opening of the latter treats the former as recent events, and the game treats the Link as the same one from Four Swords.
100
Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(31/39) It would answer various questions, such as how Hyrule has forgotten a Demon Theif that invaded their lands and then, hundreds of years later, led an invasion from the Shadow Realm. Instead, this is a Hyrule that has not seen Ganon before...

Instrutilus @instrutilus.bsky.social · 06/11/2024
(30/39) I would instead put forth that he is an alternate timeline counterpart, that Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures are counterparts to the Child and Adult Eras of Ocarina of Time respectively, and the games are a prequel to A Link to the Past.
