Yet, management has been unwilling to agree to these common-sense principles. Without these guardrails, there would be nothing stopping BI from creating AI-generated news, replacing journalists with AI, and forcing those that remain to use tools that don’t make their jobs easier or better. (5/7)

The “Keep Police Radio Public Act” would allow journalists to maintain real-time access to radio transmissions in the state. As of Wednesday, @governor.ny.gov has not signed the act and time is running out....

With the possibility of the police ultimately controlling the messaging and speed of transmissions, it clearly presents a disservice to the public. We strongly urge @governor.ny.gov to sign this bill to protect New Yorkers and support a free press.
