Twenty minutes later, they called back and said the reason they hung up was due to an "urgent call" on their end. They went into their spiel of this role, then requested my desired rate. The job posting never included it. In California, postings for a company this size is required to have it.

I had a third-party recruiter call me recently when I submitted to an online job posting. When they said the company name, they struggled to confirm their posting was the same I had already applied to, even when I gave the Requisition Number I was put in for. They hung up abruptly after.

My realization was similar, though mine was being Jewish and grew up in Northern Virginia. In addition to variations on that statement, having people try to give me new testament bibles "just" outside of public school grounds definitely got me thinking as well.

If I got a nickle for each time I've responded to any type of advice with: "But are you aware of Fuunsaiki, the horse Gundam that appears in Mobile Fighter G Gundam as the mighty steed of multiple mobile fighters?" I'd have a metric ton of nickles.

Went back to FFXIV recently. Still happy my companion of choice is a Palico. Even when I'm not playing Monster Hunter, I'm still huntin' monsters.

Ah, purely the timing factor: If the currently available option will protect well enough than the new one coming. From what I remember (I could be wrong, I'm no doctor), the protection decreases with time, so getting sooner, before the trip makes more sense to me.

People highlight those leaving the industry and those trying to break in, but I also think an unspoken part of this is even the 2/3 still working are in a worse state; some being overworked to take on the duties of those cut or forced into lower paying unstable contracts with less benefits.
