What an amazing opportunity to present my work at #SLS26 at @thesainsburylab.bsky.social! Already the first couple of hours were worth the trip! I’m looking forward to the next 2 days of inspiring talks on plant morphogenesis. 🍀

Check out our new publication! We demonstrate that bacteria can be used to improve the suboptimal compressive behaviour of flax fibre composites, making them more suitable for sustainable windmill blades. Pretty cool, right? 🦠 You can find here: doi.org/10.1002/adma... #biomaterials #microbiology

What a time to be alive... RNA-Seq for half the price I paid 3 months ago, with results 4x faster... And I can ship it without dry-ice at the dropbox at my neighbouring faculty. Thanks @plasmidsaurus.bsky.social! Looking forward to the results 🧬 #PhDlife #molecularbiology #plantscience

🧬I attempted RNA isolation on some grass from outside the faculty and obtained two perfect 18S and 28S rRNA bands... So, my 10 failed attempts on my own sample were due to improper lysis, after all... I'm happy to figure out it wasn't my dirty RNase-hands...😅 #PhDlife #molecularbiology #TUDelft
