7/ I recognise the gap from ten years of climate work. Nearly nine in ten people worldwide want their governments to do more on climate, and most of them believe they are in the minority. People can see the future they want. They just do not believe we will get there.

6/ About the family. Our father Sten Rentzhog chaired the Nordic Museum, which has documented Swedish life since 1873. Seven children grew up with his idea that history is the material you build the future with. Sven, now head of futures at the same museum, took it literally.

What I said on stage at Stockholm Climate Leadership Forum today. Speak up for climate or democracy and the script is the same. First they try to silence you. Then to discredit you. Any platform that challenges the attention machine gets the same treatment. We saw it at W from day one.

The runoff is October 25. The election is not over. For climate action, political disengagement is a risk we cannot ignore. We need a public conversation that helps people understand what is at stake and believe their participation matters. I wish we had launched W years ago.

This does not prove legacy social media caused abstention in Brazil. Distrust, dissatisfaction with candidates and practical barriers all deserve investigation. But we should ask whether our feeds help people participate, or leave them believing nothing can change.

Could committed supporters become more determined to defeat the other side, while others become exhausted by the hostility? Some mobilize. Others switch off. A louder political conversation does not necessarily mean more people feel they have a voice.

A review of 496 studies linked social media with growing polarization and declining political trust, especially in established democracies. It also found increased political participation. Could legacy social media help produce both outcomes?

Meanwhile, around 33.4 million registered voters stayed home. About 21.1%, the highest first-round abstention rate since 1998, although only slightly above 2022. Why did so many people not participate? We need to understand.

I remember last year during #COP30. Standing in the rainforest the day after we had Carlos Nobre on stage talking about how dangerous close we are hitting an irreversible tipping point risking Amazon befoming a step.

Amazon deforestation surged under Jair Bolsonaro and fell sharply after Lula returned. Experts warn that a Flávio Bolsonaro victory could reverse restored forest protections. The consequences would reach far beyond Brazil. The Amazon matters to the global climate.

Since Brazil introduced presidential runoffs in 1989, no candidate who finished second in the first round has gone on to win. Lula would have to break that pattern on October 25. History is not destiny. But the stakes are enormous.

Another climate backlash in the making. This one is big. Flávio Bolsonaro, son of Jair Bolsonaro, led Brazil’s first round: 47.03% against Lula’s 45.16%. Brazil hosted COP30 less than a year ago. Now a Bolsonaro return to power is a real possibility.

Fencing is a great sport! I fenced as a kid and won the Northern Sweden Cup when I was 15. To be honest, there weren’t that many of us competing. ;)

I agree but that is not the case here. The verified-only view on W shows verified users across the AT Protocol network, not just W users.

A social network where verified humans talk to each other isn’t an echo chamber. It’s the foundation for social media you can trust.
