Blake has been practicing his “pike” for the next Cat Nap Olympics. He wants to know how he’s doing and what other cats are doing to prepare? Happy #Caturday to all. #cats #catsky #tuxedocats #BlakeCat

Adult tuxedo cat show lying on his side in a large , round cat bed near a window. He’s in the pike position many divers take, that is with back legs aligned together and held straight while his front paws touch the tips of his back toes. He’s in looks completely asleep.

Blake says happy #Caturday. It makes me laugh that he sits on top of the scratcher. It’s one of those “if I fits, I sits” situations, I guess. #BlakeCat #catsky #tuxedocat

Blake had a follow up dental check today, six weeks post-surgery. He’s healing well but a little slowly. He was a very good boy at the vet. I’m proud of him, even though he required a Churu bribe to get him in his carrier. #BlakeCat #cats #tuxedocats #catsky #HedgeWatch

Photo showing a shorthair adult tuxedo cat curled up inside of a comfy looking cat bed. His back is to the camera, and he’s sleeping with a back foot sticking out as it rests on the rim of the cat bed. It’s a sunny day and the bed is situated near a window. Happy #Caturday. We like a good detective novel around here. #MelloCat and I are partial to #Vera stories for some escapism when needed. #cats #CatSky #orangecats

Photo of a Cream-colored adult shorthair cat sitting next to an open library book. Her right front paw is placed on the middle of the page on the right side. Dialog boxes: Mello the cat says: “Mom!…mom!”; Mom says “What, Mello?”; Mello says: “Will you read to me?”

Second photo in series shows similar scene, but now the focus is n the cat’s face as she waits. She looks anxious. Dialog box: Mom says: “Of course!”

Third photo of series shows a close up of her very long front legs as she sits up, tall & sweetly. Dialog box from Mello is in 3 emoji: lady detective, magnifying glass, green heart. Obviously Mello likes her mom to read aloud her detective story. This one features the character Vera Stanhope.

Happy #PiDay & #Caturday. My fave Pi Day memory was the 1st year I worked at Carnegie Mellon: I got to campus that day to see many students had worked to write Pi on the sidewalks across campus as one meandering line of its numbers. #MelloCat celebrates by curling herself into a pie shape. #cats

Photo of an adult shorthair cat who is cream-colored. She’s laying curled on a carpet with a lot of contrasting turquoise color, but accents that are similar colors to her coat. She’s sleeping peacefully with one forepaw tucked under her chin.

We’ve been having a good #Caturday. Hope yours has been good, too. Blake’s giving a lot more bleps, & his dental work is healing well. Mello is mostly sleeping today. She moves so fast I get the best pics of her when she’s cat-napping. #cats #catsky #MelloCat #BlakeCat #tuxedocats #orangecats

The cats here made extended use of the heating pads this week, because the weather was stormy and a bit colder than normal. I caught on camera a moment where Mello seems to like it so much, that it looks like she’s smiling in her sleep. #catsky #cats #MelloCat #orangecats

Blake is doing well these days. I’d say here is a photo showing what he loves to do on #Caturday, but it’s basically what he enjoys everyday. 😺 He sends you his regards. Really. #BlakeCat #cats #CatSky #tuxedocats

This photo features the Short-haired, adult tuxedo cat shown laying on his cat bed in the sunshine. The light is showing off his whiskers, and the texture and colors of his fur. He seems sound asleep. In the background there is a window that shows a glimpse of some patio potted plants.

Queen Mello will allow #Caturday photos for a brief time today. No pushing or jostling, please. #cats #catsky #MelloCat

Photo of the cream-colored, adult shorthair cat, regally lying in the midst of a turquoise plushy blanket. She looks relaxed and if she could talk, it looks like she may be saying, “yes, paparazzi, take my photo if you must.” Although the blanket is plush, it has many remnants of pulled threads from years of cats ‘making biscuits’ on it. It obviously is well-loved.

No cat photo yet this morning; I escaped to a local cafe for a coffee treat & sat outdoors reading and sipping. Beautiful sky & several peletons riding by.

Outdoor photo from the right side of the street looking in direction of traffic. Taken from seat at cafe. Wispy clouds in the sky, light traffic, small cluster of road bicycles rolling off into the distance, some cafe denizens in the background. Location, Lofty Coffee Roaster, Encinitas CA

Happy Last #Caturday of 2025! Obviously #MelloCat has some private thoughts for her end-of-the-year journaling. #cats #CatSky #CatsAreWeird

Photo of cream colored adult shorthair cat laying on her side, on top of an orange composition notebook. Two dialogue bubbles are in picture: one from cat mom off screen saying playfully; “Mello… what are you writing in your favorite orange notebook? May I see?” The cat looks up at the camera with a self-possessed expression and her dialogue box says in icons: calendar page OMG “No trespass” symbol followed by a bold exclamation point and question mark, as if to say keep out like an exasperated teenager.

Cute! A Neoclassical Odalisque for you

Painting with woman jrecumbent and arm thrown overhead. Saffron color Greek underdress similar color to cat in the previous picture. Attributed to English artist John William Godward, “The Day Dream” was painted in 1920, and show the persistence of both this “Odalisque” theme & use of models.

Your cat has a classic flourish there!

Odalisque painting from 1876 by Hippolyte Berteaux, showing women in cream-colored robes extending a leg out, echoing the pose of @decornery’s cream colored cat

Life imitating art imitating life

Reproduction of Henri Matisse’s 1928 painting Odalisque with a Turkish Chair. Showing a woman in the same pose as the cat in the previous photo in this thread. This painting is part of a series showing sex workers in various stages of clothed/partially clothed recumbant poses, usually with “oriental” clothes and room props. This genre of painting during the time of the French Impressionists is where the modern meme “Paint me like one of your French girls” originates.

Happy #Caturday! Here’s some pics from earlier this week when my assistants were nearby and having vastly different reactions to the bright sunshine. #cats #CatSky #TuxedoCats #OrangeCats #BlakeCat #MelloCat

Adult tuxedo cat shown overflowing his cat bed. He languidly extends his right front leg out of the bed and that paw touches the floor amid a ray of sunshine streaming in from the nearby window. We don’t see his face because he is looking away from the camera while gazing contentedly out the window.
