max is nearly late, barging into the meeting room in his office, an apology for the lawyers on his lips. he freezes, pinches himself, shakes his head. bradley looks like he's going to have an aneurysm

🛹✨🍓nerdy🍓✨🛹 @ineffablynerdy.bsky.social · 07/01/2025

he stutters "got, um, meeting", grabs his briefcase close to his chest and ducks his head into the crowd. so different from the bradley max had seen at reunion. he's not cool and relaxed, he's stressed and tired-looking. when did he move to the city?

130

🛹✨🍓nerdy🍓✨🛹 @ineffablynerdy.bsky.social · 07/01/2025

"sorry, sorry, shit, my bad" he's knocked into someone, spilling coffee between them, down both their shirts. there's a flash of panic in the other person's eyes and- wait, what are the odds? bradley?

🛹✨🍓nerdy🍓✨🛹 @ineffablynerdy.bsky.social · 07/01/2025

he was always taught to handle meetings like this personally, so he's skating through the city (it's the best way to get around traffic), going to meet the new lawyers on his marketing team. he gets distracted, catches his board on a rock in the middle of the sidewalk, gets jolted forward

🛹✨🍓nerdy🍓✨🛹 @ineffablynerdy.bsky.social · 07/01/2025

max doesn't message the next day. neither does brad. max goes back to work, back to the city, setting up meetings with investors and lawyers and getting ready to public with his skate brand

130

🛹✨🍓nerdy🍓✨🛹 @ineffablynerdy.bsky.social · 07/01/2025

and they have a great night. brad seems interested in what max has to say and max notices brad's laugh sounds like bells. by the end of the night, they have each other's phone numbers, and bradley's escorting his (very) drunk husband into a cab to go back to their hotel

130

🛹✨🍓nerdy🍓✨🛹 @ineffablynerdy.bsky.social · 07/01/2025

but brad's husband is nowhere to be seen, and he doesn't look at max with distain and anger any more. in fact, the way he looks at max is warm and grateful for the help up. he brushes off his expensive looking suit and offers to get a drink at the bar together

(or some other generic name idk he married someone "important" and hyphenated his name shuddup)

his breath catches in his throat when he locks eyes with bradley uppercrust the iii, surprised by the way he immediately gets butterflies in his stomach. he notices the nametag next "bradley uppercrust-brandywine iii"

the night of the reunion, max is having fun, he's a few drinks in and dancing with a few people. he gets bumped off the floor, stumbles into someone and topples over them. max laughs, apologizes, stands up and offers his hand out

130

🛹✨🍓nerdy🍓✨🛹 @ineffablynerdy.bsky.social · 07/01/2025

he eventually gets guilt tripped into going; goes back home and hangs out with everyone again and chills around town. it's nice to get everyone together for the first time in so long, and max has some high hopes for the reunion and seeing his classmates

it gets posted in the gc one day, 10y graduation is coming up, invites are being sent out. roxie is dating a girl on the planning team and knows the theme on the dl ("missed opportunities" or w/e that means 🙄) max waffles on whether to go or not; he's busy in the city with work

🛹✨🍓nerdy🍓✨🛹 @ineffablynerdy.bsky.social · 07/01/2025

okay you had ur chance ur gonna hear it anyway so its like 10 years after graduation right? Max's graduation. he's had a good life, still really good friends with Bobby and PJ and even Roxanne, might possibly be an important person involved in a skateboard company
