GP Monterey forecast: weak cold front may push some spotty showers into the Bay area this evening…but otherwise it’s a typical Laguna Seca forecast this weekend…morning clouds, temps around 70, gusty NW winds…very similar to last year’s conditions

I’m not so sure anymore…if everything can stay collapsed below this line over the next couple hours it might work. Problem is the area upstream which is still tracking above line (ie in line with track)…but it does appear to be weakening…so even if it arrives as light precip it might be workable

12:30 CT/1:30 ET radar: it’s coming. Less concerned with the storms lined from Janesville-Kenosha…it’s the area building through Madison that’s an issue. Still leaning into timeline of 90 more good min to get to 2 CT/3 ET, then gets dicey after…watching

Quick hack at Sunday: think there’s some activity around pre-dawn thru early morning..but more hit/miss type than today..then we should have a decent window into afternoon. I still question when (or if, even) there may be a second round..for now, will mention it and see what AM data shows

Depends on drying time…intermittent to start, then dry gap…but showers exiting LaCrosse now will probably reset drying…then should be all clear between 4-5pm local…so with sunset a hard stop (7:31pm) might be tough. Best case last area weakens/passes through early in that window and drying goes well

Initial #PortlandGP forecast: Rough start to the week for Portland area…air quality issues due to wildfire smoke + temps climbing to triple digits by Wed…but then pattern shifts after mid-week…so smoke should clear out and temps dropping into the weekend

Cold front blows thru Indy area overnight and that sets up sunny/dry conditions thru this week, w/temps warming each day…so, for now: sunny/dry Fri-Sun…low 80s Fri, mid 80s Sat, low 90s Sun. Long range models suggest next rain chance works in Sunday night…so have to keep an eye on how that evolves

Noon CT/1pm ET weather check: radar quiet..still slight chance pop-up storm thru afternoon. Current temp 88°/heat index 96°…think we’ll get to 92-94° range during race, so if humidity levels hold steady as they are now that comes out to 102-105° heat index
