Closing ceremonies was... Small. I'm used to closing ceremonies only getting roughly 2/3 of the attendees but if that was the case, then things were *rough*. Compare Baycon 2025 with BLFC 2024 (📷 @rictar-rat.bsky.social )

BayCon 2026 closing ceremonies: A room with approximately 75 people at most in it.

I think about this comic a lot. I forget who made the original (they’re goated with extra sauce) but I have to step back a lot and go “I’ve done stuff and people liked it” occasionally so that I remind myself that my growth is measured by my history, not the way I see someone as.

Every one of these things only happened because I sat down and went "I have an IDEA. Now how do I make it REAL?" and learning the tools of that artform.
