Kenshi and Dark Souls are two games which have been detrimental to my daily productivity. I simply cannot stop thinking about them. I’m always wondering about what I want to do next, reading wiki pages, watching tips and lore videos, writing notes, etc. They are addictions. They are second lives.

Just realised one of the games I bought is something I already got for free on Epic Games. Embarrassing when you can’t even remember what’s in the backlog. Fortunately the game was in a bundle and came with all the dlc, the epic version has no dlc. Still, I gotta be more careful at the checkout!

Steam Summer Sale. The worst time of the year for my bulging backlog. 24 new games stuffed down the gullet. Plus, an unhealthy amount of trading card buying and selling, because pointless digital badges and an increasing steam level triggers mass amounts of dopamine in me apparently… YIPPEE!!!

I’ve lost interest in ‘Heed These Hounds’ for now. A gag-a-week comic strip isn’t all that interesting or fulfilling to me at the moment. Perhaps I’ll come back or reboot it someday. In the meantime, I’ve been sketching and doodling. Perhaps they’re ideas for a hand-drawn narrative-focused comic?

I have an addiction. It is buying games I don’t necessarily really want to play. I buy console exclusives to feel like I’m getting the most out of the console, and I buy Steam bundles for the increased discounts. The backlog is massive, and it causes guilt and anxiety.
