The Trump administration's secret police keep murdering and maiming people on our streets with impunity, tearing families and communities apart. It cannot be reformed. It cannot be redeemed. We must hold every single person who is complicit in this reign of terror accountable. Abolish ICE!

We're not free until we're all free. Money is the only language they understand. Now is the time to show the full force of the 99% to the 1%. We stand united with each other and boycott out of solidarity and give our money back to our own communities. To us.
We're not free until we're all free. We all want the same thing at the end of the day; let's demand it together. Money is the only language they understand. Now is the time to show the full force of the 99% to the 1%. We stand united with each other and boycott out of solidarity and give our money back to our own communities. To us.

You are just living your life. you work, you laugh, you love and you order things from Amazon. You listen to books on Audible. You rent movies from Prime. Why? Because it's convenient. Your hard-earned money goes to your Amazon Prime subscription. Your money goes to Jeff Bezos, who owns Amazon. He's just a regular billionaire living his life. He spends your money - well, now it's his money - on politicians like Trump and JD Vance. He invests in AI tech and detention centers and yachts and 50 million dollar weddings, while the politicians he funds make life exponentially more expensive for you! Oh, and by the way: Amazon Web Services provide cloud computing services to ICE. Now, you, just living your life and working, live under a government making that life a living hell. You can't afford your health insurance payments anymore. You and your neighbors are being terrorized by masked men, but hey, two day shipping...

America is very irresponsible with our tax money, spending it on ICE and never-ending wars instead of serving the American people. Billionaires and corporations lobby and openly fund politicians instead of working for the American people. Spending our money locally helps our communities thrive.
Why boycott America? America has proven to be very irresponsible with money. Our taxes are going to ICE and never-ending wars instead of serving the American people. What’s happening in America should frighten the world, because the current administration does not care about international law, the Heritage Foundation has planted seeds in Europe, and citizens of other countries are being held in ICE detention centers or turned away at the border.

Why give billionaires and corporations any more money? They lobby and openly fund politicians instead of working for the American people. As a result, the US doesn’t have proper protections for the environment and against AI, lacks easy access to affordable health care or even liveable wages, and considers corporations people.
Shop as locally as you can! By putting money into our communities, our money circulates within our neighborhoods and helps them thrive. When we give our money to corporations, it goes to yachts, bombs and corruption.

Global solidarity is a strong message of worker and class solidarity when all of us globally say, "enough is enough." It matters, and it works: a boycott of this scale has benefits regardless of what country you live in. #MayDay @indivisible.org #economicblackout
What is global solidarity? Per the Oxford Review, global solidarity refers to the shared commitment among individuals, communities and nations to stand together in support of marginalised and oppressed peoples across the world. It involves recognizing interconnected struggles, addressing global inequalities, and taking collective action to promote equity, justice and human dignity regardless of geography.

We keep us save, and we always have.

Why does it matter? It's a strong message of worker and class solidarity if all of us globally said, "enough is enough." Without us, the powers that be are powerless. We make the world turn. We made them. We fund them. We are not customers. We're constituents. We're humans.

Global solidarity works, and we need it more than ever!

History lesson:

US women fought alongside UK women during their suffrage fight
People across Europe helped people in Nazi-occupied areas
The international anti-apartheid movement
Countries around the world marched for George Floyd
Countries are withdrawing from Eurovision due to Israel's involvement
64% of Dutch resident said they would be willing to travel less to the US

A boycott of this scale has benefits regardless of what country you live in. It's a massive show of force that global elites cannot ignore. The billionaires, the ones we all share, cannot ignore it.

#MayDay is when our pro-democracy movement will flex its economic muscle, as @ezralevin.bsky.social put it on @dailybeanspod.com. In the lead up to May 1, we'll be posting a zine (page by page) that we handed out at #NoKings on where to start with boycotting, even from abroad!
Boycotting means a concerted refusal to have dealings with a person, store, or organization to express disapproval or force acceptance of conditions. Historic boycotts like the anti-apartheid movement that began in 1959, the Montgomery bus boycott in the '50s, and Gandhi's Quit India campaign in 1942 affected change, and current examples like shoppers ditching Target after they ditched DEI, Disney returning Jimmy Kimmel to the air after many people cancelled their Disney+ subscriptions show that boycotts work.

Consumerism funds America, and if we collectively decide to spend our money locally and ethically, we can slow down the machine that bankrolls and benefits from the Trump administration. Amazon/Whole Foods, Disney, FedEx, Hilton, Spotify, Starbucks, Target, Uber, Paramount+, Papa John's, Meta, TikTok, ChatGPT, Skims, Fenty, Tesla, Coca Cola, McDonald's, Palantir and Apple are companies that keep America going through shopping, streaming and clicking.

If enough Americans, in the US and abroad, and concerned, engaged citizens around the world focus on shifting our spending towards local and ethical businesses, we can cause the machine to slow and eventually grind to a halt.
