We are boycotting Indigo Books this holiday season (and always) because Indigo’s CEO Heather Reisman and her partner Gerald Schwartz fund "lone soldiers" who participate in Israeli military services. @NotoIndigo #indigokillskids

Based on CRA data, The Schwartz & Reisman Foundation has donated over $441 million dollars to other charities since 1997. Nearly 45% of these funds have gone to one organization: the HESEG Foundation. @NotoIndigo

Gerald Schwartz and Heather Reisman are a billionaire Canadian couple. While Reisman is the founder and CEO Indigo Books, Schwartz is the founder and former CEO of Onex Corporation (the parent company of WestJet and hundreds of other subsidiaries).

Together they have founded multiple charities, namely The Gerald Schwartz and Heather Reisman Foundation (SRF) and the
HESEG Foundation.

The Foundation provides incentives to foreign nationals (“lone soldiers”) to voluntarily enlist in the Israeli military.

This directly violates CRA policy that states assisting a foreign military is prohibited as a charitable activity.
