Every part of the song is either sing by 1 or both, but only the very beginning of the song where each of them takes one line when they wake up to get ready to surf. So that means they're sleeping on the same bed that's how they can wake up together ?

Found that "me" that I wanna be Ridin' free, Xtreme, oh baby can't you see? The "me" has brackets that means it is not a literal ME/I, the both singers are singing together so this part of the lyric is directed at each other. They cut the leash off each other. And they call each other "baby"?
