Reading *Enshittification* by Cory Doctorow. Very good so far! Laying bare what we all intuitively know: the Internet has gotten worse. But not in a depressing way, in a way that clarifies what is going on, how it happened and (haven't gotten there yet but) what to do about it.

Goodbye dear one.

Screen shot of book page. WB's poetic thoughts about his imminent decay and acceptance of it, while lying on his back in the woods - written in 1968, when he was ~34. The last line: "When I move to go, it is as though I rise up out of the world."

Just pure gold #anthropology #students

A long student diary entry, too much to write here, but the gist is that anthropology is about building attention for relations of all kinds

Grading student diaries on what it means to be an anthropologist. #anthropology #teaching #grading

Student's diary page. In spiky black letters he's written:

We try on different viewpoints
We interrogate boundaries
We question assumptions
We find the strange in the familiar ...
... and the familiar in the strange

@Energetic_Nova good choice! I'm glad you're here. Sending additional silly distractions

Closeup detail of the art in question. Many straight lines drawn in fine, soft pencil. Alleyways of white dot paper between clusters of parallel lines. The corner of a large eye with more of a swirling shape on the bottom right.
