#superman As is customary with social media this film is either a ten or a one. Its neither. It is a bit self-indulgent, not strongly written, a bit quirky, and a bit geeky. Didn't balance well the perspective of uber-fans and those burned out on super hero movie. It's an okay popcorn flick.

#sharkwhisperer #sharks Started off dull (first 30 mins) and was expecting it to fall into the usual Netflix pattern. But it didn't. You don't have to agree with her philosophy. And I wouldn't swim with sharks, I'd get a bigger boat! She is attention getting for a message of conservation. 6/10

#TrueCrime There was some hub-bub about Peacock paying one million dollars to the Heuermann family. If want to hear what they have to say this is for you. General overview in the first episode. Then focuses on family. The 3rd is a drag. Different than HBO's Gone Girls. Just okay. 5.5/10

#HBO #themortician Two episodes was enough for me. The story is certainly ghoulish and appalling. It might even be interesting if it wasn't stretched over three 1 hour episodes over three weeks. This should have been a solid 2 hour documentary consumed in one sitting. 6/10

#FearStreetPromQueen Wasn't a huge fan of the previous trilogy, but they were effective. This was not. There wasn't really a plot. Felt like an excuse to have 80's music drops. Kills were uninspired and so was the script, which had 2 writers. Written by Chatgbt? Maybe! Dull and boring. 2/10

#inthefade I'm putting this in the why not and give it a try pile. Katja's life collapses after the deaths of her husband and son in a bomb attack. After a time of mourning and injustice, Katja seeks revenge. It's a really good #drama #thriller #legalthriller flick that's on MAX and Prime.

#thepitt #noahwyle This was supposed to be a reboot of ER for NBC. I'm so glad they couldn't get the rights and went to HBOMAX instead. it allows the show to have more of an edge on top of the accurate and compelling medical drama!! So, so good. Highly recommend it. 9/10

#longbrightriver Wanted to like this, but alas, it's not to be. A dreadfully slow story about a Philadelphia police officer searching for her drug addicted sister who has gone missing. Amanda Seyfried isn't terrible but the writing is horrendously bad. Slow, filler, dull. More bad streaming 2/10

#McVeigh Really wanted to like this. I cant say that I did. It attempted to chronicle the descent of Timothy McVeigh into domestic terrorism, but ultimately it failed to provide a compelling or insightful portrayal of it. Solid acting & gritty look, but poor script. its always the writing! 5/10

A very good crime/drama. Its raw & real. Its different with the one take feel. Boy aged 13 accused of a horrible crime gets arrested and processed. Good 1st, and great 3rd Ep. 4th Ep is a waste. Ridiculous to be considered an Incel at 13. Feels stretched. Overhyped, but great performances. 8/10

#TheManhattanAlienAbduction is a painfully repetitive & difficult docuseries to watch. It also has very little to do with aliens or abductions. More about two ladies throwing shade at each other over a male alien researcher. Silly. Unbelievable. Not worth your time. And there is singing! 2/10

Yep, another Charles Manson documentary, but this one is actually good. Based on the book Chaos by Tom O'Neil it tells a tale of who might have been behind Manson and his brainwashed clan. A stew of CIA, MKUltra, LSD, & hippies. A compelling 90 minutes and NOT a long slog; rare for #netflix 8/10

indarkwerisepod.bsky.social @indarkwerisepod.bsky.social · 06/03/2025

This doc could have been so much better. Also, could be shorter, but Hulu chose to make it 3 episodes. It covers the story if you don't know it. But in the interviews & video footage (Hulu got a bunch) there is a lot of mental illness (delusions) on display. Okay at best. 4/10

#moviesky Not much good to say. It's the kind of flick that makes you walk out of the theater. Can make you walk out of your house if watching at home! Poop seems to be the thing, here. There is a montage as it goes down the toilet. Yeah, that's right, poop montage! Can find better. 2/10

#ZeroDay Man, really was hoping this was going to be great. It was okay to solid and that's the long and short of it. So many great actors but the writing -- its not good enough. The tragedy didn't feel tragic enough. No real edge of your seat moments. Also, nothing stands out. Very Netflixie 6/10

#Anora How does this win the Palme D'or at Cannes? How does this win an Oscar for writing and editing of all things? 1st act was okay; they have sex & play Xbox. It then fell into screaming F*ck and MF-er 1000 times. Scenes are too long & runtime is also too long. Nothing #Oscar worthy here.

I know, I know. Do we need another #OJSIMPSON documentary? The answer is of course, no. But in an era of overly long #netflix true crime docs this is very good and it covers it all with fresh interviews minus Marcia Clark. Made In America I'd say is still the best. 7.5/10 What do you think?

010

indarkwerisepod.bsky.social @indarkwerisepod.bsky.social · 21/02/2025

#gabbypetito is it a heartbreaking story? Yes! Is it another overly long #netflix documentary? Yes! The story is really simple and doesn’t need 3 hours to tell. What little you learn isn’t enough to warrant a 3 episode doc. Terrible interviews throughout and race squeezed in at the end. 3/10

Now that there has been a couple days to decompress, I have to say — despite the high ratings— this was an incredibly boring, not very entertaining Super Bowl. Half-time show wasn’t for me either. Don’t get me started on the commercials!! 🥲
