Yin is /clearly/ suffering from the lack of squishes right now, and keeps whining at me while flopped on the floor. (by squish, I mean lay on her with my torso while using my elbows to support most of my bodyweight, which I can NOT do right now)

Nurse Yin is now on duty (I think she knew not to lay on me the previous two days, cause she mainly just followed me around and watched me until today). Had to steer her away from laying on my left arm, so she settled for my left side and had her back against my left forearm while purring

Tl;dr: Left was way worse than the right was, even though the right hurt worse >_>. Btw, the bicep was extended by 3cm and now has two achors (the right never had that done). Also I can sort of move my fingers now (they feel like when a hand falls asleep & then goes all staticy)

Was discharged around 3pm (needed food and what not first), but I survived the Knife Fight and I'm EXHAUSTED. The lil skeleton has been named DC, which stands for 'Distal Clavicle' since that was the bone that was stolen from me for the Great Skeleton War (they went through surgery with me)

Knife fight buddy here to have my back (figured they were the perfect friend for today)

Knife Fight is scheduled for Noon and have to be to the hospital by 9, so this is my obligatory WISH ME LUCK post cause I won't really be answering much for a good portion of today. I'll try to remember to send a proof of life post once I'm with it and have access to my phone again

Mentally I'm here at the moment, and I just wanna get this over with FYI: They finally called me & Surgery is scheduled for tomorrow at Noon EST (I have to be to the hospital by 9am). At least this time it's not super early, so I'll be able to get a lil more sleep before the knife fight

Since there are a few new folks following me (*waves hi*), I'm just updating to say that I am having shoulder surgery on Friday (non-dominant arm this go around), so if you are here for comics or art, it might be a lil bit before I get back to that (just a temporary pause while I heal tis all)

More silliness from the #bookofcaoinoct server, this time folks were asked what species their OC would be if they were an Animal Crossing character, and this was my contribution of Numskull as a Kitty Villager

Impistry ♤ @impistry.com · 17/09/2026

Welp, no outside Halloween decorating this year for me due to surgery. Having an HOA means I can't leave stuff up til I feel like dealing with it, so I can't really risk putting stuff when they have a hard 3 day rule for everything to be put away :( At least I have McSkelleton 💀 for Spooky Season 🎃

McSkelleton, my Maliciously Compliant Skeleton lives on my porch year round and gets decorated to hide his Spookiness

You might have see him on my DA back in the day under Dragontrap (I have the acct still, but don't use). Otherwise, it's me :D And have silly doodles from the @bookofcaoinoct.bsky.social Discord server when folks were making their OC's participate in a 'Spa Day' (Numskull was forced into it)

McSkelleton has been freed of their flower disguise so they can embrace Spooky Season :D (second pic is their summer look) FYI: He lives on my porch year-round, but I have a stupid HOA, so I have to 'decorate' them for the seasons so they can't say anything >_>

Solving a wobbling issue with a PVC pipe, pipe clamps, & carriage bolts to make a bracing piece for my sewing table. Like the legs are screwed into the wood so they are attached, but it was on carpet before (braced on two sides), & the table was barely moved. I want to be able to roll it around

Mostly East Coast and the lower Central US, I've also lived Overseas; Germany was due to Military Service, Spain (Barcelona) was due to Study Abroad, and then I took a trip to stay in both Ireland (stayed for a week) and Italy (stayed 2 weeks to see a friend) while I was in Spain

Lots of yellow out northern mid-west/west, would still love to move to WA if I can ever manage it

For those who recall Spud, my grandmother's cat who I was able to rehome back in November, finally crossed over the rainbow bridge today. Long story short they VERY recently found her riddled with an aggressively spreading cancer that was shutting things down & the call was made to help her pass.

For me, I'm not a fan of sketchbooks even though they are useful. BUT I love high quality copy paper (loose paper FTW), 3-ring binders, sleeves for holding said papers, & a clipboard <3 Also I really, REALLY love sketching with .05 blue Lead & Ball Point pens (BIC Crystals are great)

Love these sleeves, and I need to find some more

Been using this clipboard since I was a teen. I kinda swiped it from my Grandpa, cause he never used it >_>

This was suggested as a dress up meme in the @bookofcaoinoct.bsky.social discord server, and someone suggested I draw Pele in said dress. Soooo... Have a birb in an ill-fitting dress (sans shading cause this was just drawn for the fun of it) #peletherow

Found out almost NONE of the coax cables that are run through the house had connectors :/. Had to finish the ends & get a splitter so I could move my fiber internet to a different room. Sadly the splitter doesn't fit back into the wall (tight fit), but I'm going to build a box to cover it

Almost none of these coax cables have ends on them

All nice and ready to go! Sadly they don't exactly fit back into the wall

This is in a closet so no one will see it but me. Eventually I'll build a box to contain everything, but for now it's out of the way and doing its job

010

Impistry ♤ @impistry.com · 06/08/2026

So I tried making something called Pizza Beans cause I was intrigued by the concept. While it wasn't too bad (it gave a chili vibe), I don't think I'd go out of my way to make them again. I will say the homemade sauce I made would be awesome for a baked (GF) pasta dish though!

Proof of the BEANS while the sauce was reducing

So followup to my shoulder issue after the MRI: Saw my PCP & he suggested that I reach out to the Ortho Surgeon's office I used last time to get them to put a referral request to the VA instead of him to avoid them denying it. They already got back with me and this looks promising :3

PRETTY sure this is what we had to do 3 years ago as well to circumvent the VA denying me the care that I needed because their Ortho is super freaking strict about who will and won't be seen (if the MRI doesn't show anything, they won't even look at you, but clearly I ended up needing surgery to fix the damage, which is most likely the same case here)
