I feel like I want to excuse him somehow because of how many videos of his I've watched. maybe it's not fair to him for me to think that, idk. it *is* better for him to have come clean but if this is the better outcome I shudder to think what happened in the worse timeline

to the guy / gal who's been arguing with me here and then blocked me - you're a coward. I didn't get your user name because I didn't expect you to run away follow @meltymutt.bsky.social instead. we might have differing opinions but they stand by them (+ they're hot but that's beside the point)

110

Mišel @immernochsuechtig.bsky.social · 14/04/2026

(...) but still, the thing you are trying to normalised matters and every case is unique. on the whole, I just don't think normalisation of fictional underage characters getting fucked in the ass is a thing worth normalising. cheers

100

Mišel @immernochsuechtig.bsky.social · 14/04/2026

(...) it doesn't make you do anything explicitly but just the normalisation is sometimes enough to make that person consuming the media to "pull the trigger" on something they wouldn't have done without their consumption. it's not always bad things - maybe they came out, or became an activist (...)

200

Mišel @immernochsuechtig.bsky.social · 14/04/2026

I wish people wouldn't feel effects of their media consumption in other avenues but they do. otherwise propaganda wouldn't happen, otherwise advertising wouldn't happen, otherwise the LGBT community wouldn't fight for representation. seeing something enough times makes it seem normal (...)

200

Mišel @immernochsuechtig.bsky.social · 14/04/2026

I never said it does. I'm saying consuming that much violent / sexual media normalises consuming more of that media and that overconsumption, let's call it, leads to a change of viewing the world. look at the armies of male shut ins who are only able to be attracted to fictional gals with giant tits

200

Mišel @immernochsuechtig.bsky.social · 14/04/2026

to some extent, yes. it's usually not as much of a problem because it's arguably more difficult to kill someone than to rape a child

400

Mišel @immernochsuechtig.bsky.social · 14/04/2026

you tried to tell me off about media literacy but standard literacy on your part would be appreciated I'm NOT saying there's a direct pipeline to child rape. I'm saying, you throw the dice enough times, you get a guy or gal to fantasise about real children after consuming fictional paedophilia

200

Mišel @immernochsuechtig.bsky.social · 14/04/2026

I'm not saying that you become a rapist after reading a non-con book or a child predator after reading a loli manga BUT when you consume that type of content all the time it starts to seem normal to you and when the thing becoming normal to you is paedophilia, I wouldn't exactly call that good

510

Mišel @immernochsuechtig.bsky.social · 14/04/2026

does pro-army or pro-cop media encourage pro-army and pro-cop views? does a pro-LGBT movie help people see trans people as people? obviously yes, at least to free extent media obviously has some effect on people and normalises the thing depicted - whether being openly LGBT or police brutality
