Just wrapped up final art for the first 12 pages of my comic--Star Wielder. Here's a preview. This book is gonna be 54 pages of story, soooo I still have a ways to go. But I'm celebrating this milestone.

Through 4 panels, an armored alien princess holding a glowing crystal, flies through darkness surrounded by energy.

The princess arrives surrounded by a fiery red haze as the crystal gradually builds in energy--ready to explode.

Wrapping up this page from my comic, Star Wielder #1. I'm really proud of it. It features Kieshuana, an alien princess, political refugee, and one of the key protagonists from the first issue.

A larger bodied woman in a gold mask with gold armor and blue-clothes with a glowing blue arm holding a glowing crystal. There's electric-like energy surrounding her. Behind her is swarming darkness with red scar faces made of just eyes and gaping mouths.

What happens when a powerful princess plagued with a life of abuse under her tyrannical mother, escapes her realm with the Empress' most powerful weapon—a primordial crystal—accidentally landing in Detroit during the 1967 uprising? Find out in Star Wielder #1 --Coming Spring '26

A fully-covered larger bodied, alien princess adorned in golden armor and mystic wear, wields a blue spirit left arm while a glowing and energized crystal floats above her left hand. Her hair is long and dark red, behind her is a glowing yellow light. She's surrounded by sparks of energy.

Ever since the Kickstarter for my comic ended successfully I've been hard at work amping up my pages. Having a bit more financial security allows me to not rush through the process while working more intentionally and consistently. Here's the first four pages for reference. #StarWielder

What happens when a mother & daughter living and surviving on the streets of Detroit during the 1967 Uprising crosses paths with a powerful alien princess trying to escape her own oppression while bringing magic and hope to the resilient city?

And like Kamala, @gwillow.me, Kiara’s story is also about identity, community and family. Learning in part, who she is and what she’s becoming, while grieving the loss of her grandmother, a community leader—who was the only one who could help her understand her traumatic evolution.

Jay Hero✨ @imjayhero.com · 06/08/2025

As a big Wondie fan, @gailsimone.bsky.social and @kellysue.bsky.social , I feel you’d resonate with the theme of the story and with the main character, Kiara. Who, like Diana, is not afraid to be outspoken and is full of courage. Often leading with understanding—a lesson from her grandmother.

It was your work on Superman, @gregpak.net , that led me to tag you. Since it first debut, this moment from your run always sat with me. My story wrestles with similar themes from a Black and queer POV. Honoring Black resiliency and strength against racial violence—with a sci-fi fantasy twist.
