Co-hosting an event with @praxis and @LSE, we brought together academics and migration experts to address messaging amidst fear and disinformation. The event highlighted balancing values with pragmatism, engaging the ‘moveable middle,’ and fostering honest discussions on challenges and solutions.

Really useful insights here @britishfuture.bsky.social highlighting divisions & tensions which exist in 1 yr on from the riots. But at a local level people often feel that those from different backgrounds get on well. Stronger community cohesion is possible but it needs significantly more funding

Great video from #WorldRefugeeDay @bestforbritain.org which highlights how little many people know about refugees in the UK and the support which they are given. One person thought millions of asylum seekers were given status in the UK in 2024 - in reality it was under 40,000.

I wouldn’t wish a detention centre on anyone, let alone on people who are forced to come to the UK because they have no other choice.
