"Worth saying really that there aren’t many bands who’ve ploughed such a unique furrow as IBG — I don’t really keep up with guitar music, but it’s probably because I don’t see many bands giving the instrument and arrangements this sort of care and attention." freq.org.uk/reviews/im-b...

Just realised we've been a band longer than sonic youth were. Currently by about 6 years.

1/2 Hot tip for releasing contemporary music in 2025. Make sure to include an obligatory field recording with much high-end and some weirdly boosted lower midrange resonance if you want to make the year-end lists.

1/5 Awake at 3am worrying about Georges Perec. Mainly how the hell anyone could translate that stuff while retaining all the trickery so focused around specific positioning or complete absence of certain letters. Then I remembered this: imbeinggood.bandcamp.com/track/sustai... ...

Now playing: I’m Being Good - Sub Plot LP (2001; reissue, 2024, Chug). Math-y UK rock that should tickle the fancy of anyone owning more than one Polvo and/or Trumans Water record. Like me. #recordsthegoodkind #nowplaying

Record sleeve with computer animation-looking characters on a dark background; one seems to be a winged angel with a magic wand. The band name is across the top center in large white all-caps lettering, and the title on the right just below, in yellow lowercase.

Listening through year-end lists. Folks, you know you can EQ or sidechain compress reverb, right? Also, there are these things called de-essers.

Possibly the most obscure advertising campaign ever but after over a hundred thousand clicks and nearly a thousand enquiries I did actually manage to sell two records. Significantly better results than trying to maintain a promo list or get a review anywhere.
