In Alaska, there’s an annual sled dog race called the Iditarod where mushers race 938 miles from Anchorage to Nome with a team of 12-16 sled dogs. This year, there’s an indigenous woman competitor named Jody Potts-Joseph who decked her team out in beadwork for the big race kickoff and I’m obsessed 🤩

A year ago, I became an L&D nurse. I didn’t know how to stop a hemorrhage or resuscitate a newborn, but I learned. I keep count of my deliveries with a bead jar: 🩷 for girls, 🩵 for boys, and 🤍 for my angel babies. I have 120+ deliveries under my belt and it’s just super cool to have a job I love 🫙

I’m beyond devastated that the Bunny Museum burned down. I was a card carrying member when we lived in LA. It was a kooky place just crammed to the rafters with bunny artifacts from all around the globe. Candace is a delight and I hope they can rebuild, one day, but goddamn…this is so horribly sad.

Since it’s still the holiday season, I’ll tell y’all about my hometown’s beloved Buzzwinkle. He was a moose that would get drunk off fermented crab apples and became so disoriented that he famously got his antlers tangled up in Christmas lights. He lived to be 13 which is very ancient for a moose 🤎

people are often surprised that hospital fire drills in the nursery and NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) involve a “safe baby” evacuation vest and the goal is to grab your vest and just stuff as many babies as humanly possible in its giant kangaroo pockets before running out the door
