The kiddo actually asked me for something! 🥰🎉 Maybe a month or so ago, he mentioned it’d be helpful to have a coaster for his desk. The heat finally broke enough that I could fire up the sewing machine and made a couple of spiderweb versions.

Well. The ‘ber months are upon us, and with them.. my audacity has returned! Making my own vanilla extracts, vanilla sugar, canned up some chicken pot pie mix, and giving sourdough starter another try (since the weather insists on being Too Hot so I’ll hopefully be successful).

I was able to finish my #TourDeFleeceFemmes spin (just took a couple of days to actually take it off the wheel). This faux cashmere is insanely soft, and I love all of the colors!! And now I’m more than ready to go back to “just” knitting, weaving, sewing, and whatever else. #LifeOfAMultiCrafter

I haven’t previously spun for the #TourDeFleeceFemmes challenge. Only tackling 1 braid of fiber, this lovely “faux cashmere” (100% nylon) braid from Knitz And Pearls in the aptly named colorway Lisa Frank. It’s like my favorite office supply (highlighters) we’re in the softest fiber!

2nd yarn for #TourDeFleece2026 is complete! Oink Pigment’s Cumulus (80/20 Superwash Merino/Cashmere) in the colorway Merci Bouquet. This wouldn’t be winning any awards, but what it’s lacking in consistency it makes up for in scrumptious softness!

Learning to weave is.. going considerably slower than I expected. The loom warping process is quite fiddly, requiring both patience & fortitude which I rarely have at the same time. However, after a week or two of repeated failures & persistent frustration, I might finally be Doing The Thing!
