Sunday Tomoi continues. This has become my most consistent local group. They take a break next Sunday for an outreach programme, while my remote students return and a new student begins training at Bladeart Studio. I’ll also begin preparing her to become a trainer. Slowly, the circle grows.

Light gym session. Nothing extreme. Just showing up and building useful strength for Silat, Tomoi, Kickboxing, teaching and everyday life. We still have to make the effort. Show up. Train. Keep working. Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh. Never zero. Keep building.

A strong first 2-hour Tomoi Kickboxing session with a Fitworx corporate group. Several participants were already generating surprisingly good power on their first day. We worked from the fundamentals: stance, movement, guard, striking mechanics, combinations and padwork.

Silat Tomoi empowers. My remote student Willy shared how he used Silat Tomoi several times last week to protect others and help secure his workplace. This is beneficial knowledge. May its reward continue to reach my late teacher, Guru Jak, who taught it to me. Alhamdulillah. bladeartstudio.com

If you're a martial artist, writing after every session is one of the best habits you can build. It doesn't have to be perfect—just record what you learned while it's still fresh. That's exactly why I created the Silat Tomoi Black Book.

I always remember something my Quran teacher once told me: "Use the power of the pen." You see it. You hear it. Then you write it down. Even after many years, I still sometimes skim through my old Silat Tomoi Black Book before I begin teaching. www.etsy.com/listing/4536...

Remote Silat Tomoi Seni Bilah Melayu session done. The German team says Germans like pain. So today, I gave them a little bit. Sweat. Pressure. Repetition. Conditioning. A little bit of suffering. The mat became slippery. The breathing became heavy. Huge smiles at the end. Then, my tekpi time.

Tomoi Sunday continues. Great weather. Open court. Good session. Hands up. Footwork. Distance. Timing. Control. Nothing fancy. Just honest training under the open sky. Good job to everyone who came today. Alhamdulillah. Seni Bilah Melayu / Silat Tomoi bladeartstudio.com

After teaching remote Silat Tomoi Seni Bilah Melayu, back to my own training. Keris in hand. A few moves. A few corrections. A few more repetitions. Training never ends. Training is forever. As long as The One allows. Alhamdulillah.

My student from Deutschland made this poster to remind me to bring it on in the next Silat Tomoi session. His wish will be granted. 😎 Poster by Maestro Capizzi. First reaction: Why do I look like a Japanese action film star? 😂 Keras. Disiplin. Legacy. Next session, we train.

Weekly father and son Tomoi workout. Moved to Saturday this week. A small look at Silat Tomoi against a set aggressive attack. Stop the threat. Leave immediately. The attacker may not be alone. Also welcomed Wawan to the team. Boxing and MMA background. Now we build. Alhamdulillah.

Single sword training. Studying langkah and footwork responses against attacks from different directions. Cut off the attack. Cut the threatening limbs. Change angle. Enter safely. Follow through. Movement. Distance. Angle. Timing. Combat principles. Alhamdulillah.

After running a remote silat knife class tonight, it was time to return to my own training. Tekpi in hand. Repeat again and again and again. Teaching does not replace training. Teaching is learning 2.0. Training is forever. Some nights are for teaching. Some nights are for sharpening. Ameen.

Knife crime and blade-related violence can happen anywhere. Blade defence requires awareness, distance, timing, entry, control, and escape. Private Blade Defence Training is now available at Bladeart Studio. Small group packages are also available with attractive rates. bladeartstudio.com

Tried to pose. Took many shots with the camera timer. In the end, the accidental off-focus frame felt more honest. Not the pose. Not the plan. Just this body moving through the work. This space where things are slowly built. This active and still healthy mind. Another day of pushing through.

Father and son trained Tomoi and knife defence today. Their neighbour Muzammil joined us too. With a fight coming up in about a month, we worked on speed, power, accuracy, and timing. Meanwhile, on another continent, Seni Bilah Melayu was demonstrated at a local Oriental Festival.

Technical Tomoi earlier. Cardio tekpi after. Even a lighter session can become good work when the movement has purpose. Better sweat than no sweat. The body moves. The hands work. The grip stays alive. Let’s train.
