For a long time I worried that growing up on the east coast had changed my way of talking. Ive always thought of Minnesota as my home, since it's where im originally from. I didnt expect a random online quiz to be the thing that reaffirmed my connection to the Midwest in a way I needed.

Artists, show your long hair art!! Wild that its one of the few prompts that works for my small selection of finished pieces 😅

So happy to have this cookbook and be able to support the efforts of Chef Sean Sherman, Kate Nelson, and Kristin Donnely. Cant wait to see how much I learn

making world maps is fun. this one is definitely the most flushed out one I've ever done. sorry if people can't zoom in it was a snip of my screen at the time not an exported image.

illith idwell 🇵🇸🇵🇸 @illith.bsky.social · 10/12/2025

I cant remember if I posted this one before, but I still really love how the cloak and hair turned out with this character.

illith idwell 🇵🇸🇵🇸 @illith.bsky.social · 13/11/2025

oh yeah... i never did finish this one.... maybe once i figure out my dragon, I'll come back to it

010

illith idwell 🇵🇸🇵🇸 @illith.bsky.social · 12/11/2025

Okay, trying something completely different for rendering this dragon of mine. Definitely liking the pose better this time and putting it in a more real setting. here's to trusting the process and hoping it turns out nice 🙏

010

illith idwell 🇵🇸🇵🇸 @illith.bsky.social · 03/11/2025

Okay, I got the idea out there, now it's time to make it good. I tried some new stuff in terms of shading that didn't turn out at all how I wanted, so we're gonna have another go at it. Really love how this idea for a dragon came out though! Time to refine 💪

I realized I never gave an update on the drawing i was working on! She's still not done, lots of details to work on, but ive finally been motivated to get back to it atter a break 💪

Queen Wilhelmina stands resolute in her light cavalry armor on her torso but with a royal purple ruffled dress below. She is wading in deep water and standing with her sword in front of her. Behind her is a doorway that frames two stars and is engraved with the phrase "May justice find those who would be treacherous to the people"

still have a ways to go but i think im finally getting the hang of how i wanna draw! this is a character from my book. the drawing is based heavily on a painting of Joan of Arc, by Albert Lynch #digitalart #fantasyart

020

illith idwell 🇵🇸🇵🇸 @illith.bsky.social · 15/08/2025

This might be my most ambitious drawing yet 😅 I probably should've figured out the hands and face before blocking colors, but I'd rather do the fun bits.

000

illith idwell 🇵🇸🇵🇸 @illith.bsky.social · 29/07/2025

tried to update the linework a bit, and while i do think it's better than before. it feels more cartoon than anime to me 🤔 not sure what causes that though. maybe the eye's are the issue...

010

illith idwell 🇵🇸🇵🇸 @illith.bsky.social · 25/07/2025

well it was an interesting piece to take a stab at. Definitely parts that I think turned out great, and lots of learning 🤔

000

illith idwell 🇵🇸🇵🇸 @illith.bsky.social · 15/07/2025

when you focus on everything except for the eyes... 👀 still so much shading and detail work to do😤

020

illith idwell 🇵🇸🇵🇸 @illith.bsky.social · 13/07/2025

Any time im out hiking with friends, i always look for these leaves. I think Sassafras is probably my favorite tree. Especially in fall when the leaves smell like fruit loops 😤 picture is from wiki since I dont have any of them near me 😔

Sassafrass leaves that are vibrant green and have three, long, smooth lobes.
