On the Hayabusa to Tohoku last summer. The person in front of me set these cute acrylic stand displays on the window ledge. Later saw a beer and some snacks on the ledge, too.

I got it as a senior in high school and had a tape for my Walkman when I went to Japan as an exchange student. I'll never forget how nervous I was and how it comforted me the first night, sleeping in a futon on a tatami floor my first night at the coordinator's home.

I was listening to C-SPAN Wash. Journal for the 1st time in years yesterday. The topic was Hegseth's speech. Some vets called in saying "good; there's too many Generals who are out for their own careers. Heg's cutting the fat." None considered that he's cutting the competent.
