Union have been weakened by both external and internal forces over the past 50 years. Each has a particular power. I hope these inhumane events end up strengthening the union internally and more importantly union conciousness of its members.

Thanks to anti-union decisions of the Supreme Court (Janus case), public sector unions are optional. I've read that as of 2/10, the AFGE saw a surge of 16,500 new members (good call, workers). Big wake up call.

Aside from a temporary probation for new hires, probationary status should be fought tooth an nail out of the contract. The whole point of probationary status is disposability.

The real travesty in the firings of *promoted* probationary federal employees is their probationary status at all. That is a topic of bargaining and sadly something that has apparently been settled for by the union and it's members. It is truly absurd.

And what is your understanding of how general strikes are pulled off?

Degrowth should be adopted as a core value of aloha 'āina and the sovereignty movement.

i really dont wanna "fight for & rebuild our democracy" as much as i wanna fight for something new & entirely inclusive from the start. just as george washington said "we dont owe king george shit!" neither do we owe romanticism & fealty to a governance that embraces economic hierarchies.

I've noticed this America first rhetoric from the Teamsters and it's short-sighted. The UAW has been loud about supporting organzing Mexican workers. This article claims a lack of commitment from them.
