Some non-spoiler advice: There's a jump button on your action bar that lets you jump up/down cliffs & across stuff. Talk to animals is worth it (lots of easy to get potions) Rope is mostly useless, having at least one shovel is very useful. Long rest often many plot things happen during rests.

Bland art direction/focus on realism is meant to appeal to a wider audience. AAA games cost a lot so they need to make a lot. It's not to say that none of that cost is justified. Complex game play & environment interactions are expensive. 33 limits the scope of their game play for a reason.

Making something look good with limited resources is a skill. 33 used a LOT of premade assets (to save money) in addition to their custom stuff. Knowing how to dress up the premade stuff and what to spend the extra money on for custom work is a mark of good art direction.

Oh there is so much wrong with AAA gaming atm. (Glares pointedly at Bungie and Destiny 2) But bad project management and poor art direction is rampant at all levels of game development. It's just that you very rarely hear about the failed A and AA games that were canceled or were poorly received.

Mostly limiting scope and good art direction. 33 is an exceptionally well executed game but it is small (compared to AAA) and the game play, while fun, is not particularly innovative in a way that would run up the budget. Using Unreal Engine, instead of making your own, also cuts costs.

According to the Revanche V Lore entry base line humans and awoken are able to make babies together. Their biology has to be similar enough to be compatible. Awoken also have pink tongues so they aren't completely blue. My best guess is their blood is red, like normal humans.

Disney shuttered a lot of their internal game development and now mostly outsources it. EA did have exclusivity for star wars games for a time but they fumbled that hard enough that Disney has been licensing star wars to other studios.

If you wanna expand things to games both Magic the Gathering and DnD fit. DnD is so influential it even has an outsized influence in ALL RPGs even video games that are unrelated to DnD/forgotten realms. The amount of stuff WoW alone ripped off from DnD is kinda staggering.

Her definition of "slop" and your definition of "slop" are likely different. There is already AI slop in games like COD which is owned by Microsoft. Nothing in her statement indicates that they are going to reduce that slop and it's more likely it will spread to other games.

That's a hell of a lot of work for very little pay off. Curated would not work because everyone's blind spot is different and if you want algorithms this is not the platform for you. If you want to get out of your comfort zone it's already easy to do so.

My husband has had really good luck with introducing new players by using Jump Start. It works great if you have a group of people of varying skills playing together. The mechanics tend to be simpler for MTG and every deck is on equal footing. The down side being you do have to buy them.

Ghost in the Shell SAC is a personal favorite. Paranoid Agent is the weirdest anime I have ever watched. I mean that as a good thing however I have a hard time recommending it to people as it is so weird. Witch Hunter Robin is more chill but still excellent. The 3 all have great English dubs.

Less toxic than twitter but that's a low bar to stumble over. The pro AI crowd have less of a voice here. Trolls and bots exist but the block here is great & the algorithm does not promote them as much so they haven't taken over. Feels like older social media/twitter.

They used AI on the season 1 posters and these posters look similarly shitty. It's sad. For a lot of reasons but like Fallout 4 had beautifully illustrated magazine covers. Comparing this slop to them makes me sad because future games are probably gonna have slop over art.
