Denver Jackson started out as a solo animator and completed two features on his own. "Why am I wasting my time if the process is not fun." Is a great thought to have in one's head and something I need to think about more going forward. Great interview. youtube.com/watch?v=0dDR...

The struggle to draw a comic with a full-time job is not just to ability to assign time to the project, but it's also the fight to engaged and locked in. It's been tough but in endeavour to enter 2026 with a new plan.

Though the story leans into alt-world sci-fantasy, these doors could still lock in a reinforced, heat-sealing manner, much like their more authentic, classic counterparts.

Really trying to live in this world I'm creating and thinking about the spaces these characters inhabit and move around in. Replacing the sliding doors with glass-paneled, swinging balcony doors—I felt these would be more in tune with Lady Baz's space.

“The Death I Bring” Pencils I made on a moleskine sketchbook page back in 2016.

A realistic pencil drawing of a robed woman, surrounded by three vultures and one barn owl grabbing a dead mouse with his beak.

The robed woman stares at us intimately, with a few bits of branched and a dark background makes the scene a bit ominous but graceful body positioning makes the scene beautiful as well. The artist (me) really likes this kind of imagery.

"I am what happens when you try to carve God out of the wood of your own hunger." ~DeepSeek R1 I don't know the exact question that was asked of this AI... But this is the kind of answer imagine would come from the AI that will eventually birth Skynet. Lol

We've watched, read, and played dystopian, sci-fi tales for so long, but to witness it in real life is surreal and discombobulating.

I started this project with pencil on paper and digital inks. Halfway through I switch to all digital. Not sure if it was the right decision but it was interesting. I could see my art shift and morph quickly going all digital. May go back to pencils in the future. #art #indiecomics #comics #wip
