It's International Democracy Day. Our workplaces(where we spend huge parts of our lives) are undemocratic dictatorships. #DemocracyIsMore than voting now and then for parties that will misrepresent you anyway. We need workplace democracy in South Africa.

Change is possible when people unite against oppression. But the fight isn't over. Today, our youths face a disintegrating education system and dwindling opportunities under a dysfunctional capitalist system. It is up to us to resist. How will you?

We need more from the community to step in. Xenophobia is inhuman, and it's making the most vulnerable among us pay for the failures of the rich and powerful.

What is the state of SA's Economy? Can we grow ourselves out of the problems plaguing our country, or will we need more sweeping changes? We need an economy that serves the people, not merely the interests of capital. www.amandla.org.za/the-state-of...

Access to nature is also a social justice issue. It's also a class issue. What a breath of fresh air, hearing this take from the leader of a large political party.

The only protest that will shift the needle is the kind that stops the capitalist machine from working. Strikes are where the power of a labour movement is measured. It's great to see more and more people push for labour action against exploitation.

This Mayday, we celebrate workers everywhere: you who create all value, who are exploited for the profits of a few, who struggled and bought our small freedoms with blood. And the workers who struggle still, because they know that while capitalism rules, we can never be free.
