Last night Reuben was really trying to bring his stuffed octopus into the bedroom, which is against bedtime rules. Boy did he try to get me to cave, and he almost did, but it is a good rule for a good reason. That reason being I don't want it being squeaked right in my ear at 5am.

Took my dog to the vet for his checkup and meds, and then came back home with a new owlbear from my friend as a belated bday gift. Don't know what to name him yet, but he looks comfy guarding the grooveboxes.

Working on altering an asset's animator and textures for somebody. Nice substance file, well organized. In unity, crack open the asset to edit it. Oh. Oh no... somebody doesn't know about leaf bones. Now I have to stop myself from compulsively fixing this asset more than I was paid to....

This is 100% without a doubt my worst furality experience ever. Thank fuck I am too buried in medical bills to have paid for sponsor this year. My attendee is a waste, because this is all I get. No matter how many times I clear caches, reinstall, alter DNS settings according to their guide, error.

Happy 1st Gotcha Day to Reuben. Last year, the snow had melted back enough for my wheelchair to use the sidewalks, and I rolled my ass down to the shelter, and rolled back out with this silly goober. We're ordering a nice rotisserie chicken to split today to celebrate.

So I modeled my actual table in blender, an ikea TARSELE table, and I've run into a weird place creatively with it. The model is a great match. The problem is, I realized the real, actual IRL table looks like it has lazy UVs because it is oak veneer. I guess yay less work?

Play with friends for 5 hours, come home and nap like a king. Reuben seems like he's pretty happy with his life. It will be a year since I adopted him at the end of this month. He's come a long way from being a desperate pile of skin and bones like he was when we met. I love my happy goober.

Small pile, I think that I'm going to have to have some of my own stickers made so I can exchange with some folks. I think that skinny shelter one will fit on the edge of my joystick, and one of those Mayors is going on a wheel. All my other stickers are already on decksavers.

Oh yeah, one day of constant/consistent behavioral shaping and some cold weather is all it took. He now understands the purpose of his bed/blanket better. He went straight to his bed when he came home from 5 hours of playtime today, and attempted to tuck himself in. I gave him a hand.

It is very chilly today, so I'm using it as an opportunity to teach Reuben appropriate use of blankets and bedding. He often tries to murder bedding, which is a habit I'm trying to break so he can one day be allowed to nap on my bed with me without destroying things. I think it's going well today.

You can see him on top of the hook here, where he has just been sitting and vibing all week, waiting to do battle with any bird trying to come to the feeder. Everytime I peek out the window, he's there. I fucking love him.

There has been one particular hummingbird on my patio from dusk till dawn all week. The others in the neighborhood come too, but at some point in the past week he decided my feeder was his, when he's not drinking from it, he's perched atop it ready to chase the other hummingbirds away.

Reuben had his 6 month checkup today. He literally doubled in weight since I adopted him 6 months ago. He hasn't gotten longer/taller, he's just not starving anymore. He's doing great and is healthy, and as usual he charms every single person he meets. I'm proud of him, he's doing so well.

Reuben's new toy basket arrived today. We've had one training session learning commands to put toys away. He's already pretty good at picking up stuff and giving it to me on command, he now just needs to learn to also put things away on command. As you can see he is doing well already.
