I greatly enjoy the fact that the word "cromulent" is, as of 2023, actually in the dictionary.

The people who design the spaceships in Star Trek really need to figure out how to make computers that don't explode. It's a health and safety nightmare!

I have to admit, as someone who loves doing dumb stuff with computers, I greatly enjoyed the stupidity of building an in-browser decrypting thing for my blog as well as a Swift tool to encrypt stuff for it 😂

Well, credit it where it's due, my Mac update did finally get approved just now without any entitlement issues. Why on Earth it took them six days *in* review (i.e., not waiting) when the iOS build was approved in two hours, I guess we'll never know. #iosdev #macdev #indiedev

Can't wait to be rejected for not explaining our Bluetooth entitlement use because the reviewer didn't scroll down far enough. Again. #iosdev #macdev #indiedev
The “C’mon, do something” meme in which a cartoon person prods a screenshot of App Store Connect showing that our Mac app has been “In Review” for four days (so far!).

With Roy Kent, the scene was: "I hate taking cabs. They're always 'How are you?' and 'Where are you going today?' — IT'S NONE OF THEIR FUCKING BUSINESS!" So there we go. I'm a cross between an introverted puzzle nerd and Roy Fucking Kent!

Ludwig is rather… particular, let's say (nerdy, bookish, introverted, etc), and the scene that made me laugh and go THAT'S ME!! was: "Did you know <xyz>?" "No." "Good. Keep it that way." (Baffled) "…but you just told me!"

Recently we watched two different TV shows back-to-back and found an uncanny representation of me split between two characters, one from each show. #1 was Ludwig in the BBC show of the same name. #2 was Roy Kent in Ted Lasso. My wife found it so funny we had to pause for a bit while she recovered.

Just voted in the Swedish elections. I put a big ‘X’ in the far right party’s box just to make sure they didn’t get my vote! (This joke stolen from “The Vicar of Dibley, a British sitcom from the late 90s.)

I cannot begin to describe how aggressively I do not want Live Rewind and *particularly* Siri Recap. Soon we’ll be surrounded by watches recording every word we say. Super. If Apple cares about privacy as much as they say, I should be able to opt my voice out of being recorded by other devices.

“Guitar playing is really simple to get into - it’s a very versatile instrument, and all you need to get going is a cheap guitar (and a cheap amp if you go electric).” Ten minutes later: #guitar
A guitar pedal board on a desk filled with pedals. Behind it sits an audio interface and a laptop on a stand showing sheet music. In front of it sits a Bluetooth keyboard and trackpad.

There’s a lot of tech in here. Notably not visible in the photo are either a guitar or an amp.

Today's adventure in 3D printing: A box with buttons and switches! Oooooo. This is effectively a footswitch remote control for a guitar pedal. The “official" one is approaching $100 (Boss FS-6), and I made this for around $20. #3dprinting

In my defence: - My app has a lot of UI which needs a big rebuild. - It was an absolute cluster**** for a while there. - There are so many inconsistencies in the new design language that I'm waiting until Apple and everyone else figures it all out and it settles down. #iosdev #macdev #indiedev

Did you know sponges stay wet for a long time? Which meant it couldn't go in the suitcase? The eye rolls from my wife were legendary. Worth it though — it's a good sponge, that!
A bright orange sponge covered in microfibre, er… tentacles? It looks like a big sea anemone.

Something I think gives away that I'm from "The North" of England (if not, at least that I'm British) is that I bought a $5 sponge in Canada, then after using it declaring: "That's a good sponge, that.” Then insisting we bring it home — on a bus across the US border, then on the plane from there.

I recently returned from a long, chaotic, once-in-a-lifetime trip to the US and Canada. Did an intensive week of guitar playing in the US, then lots of mountain biking in Canada. The TSA sure did find my luggage interesting on my way through.
