ive been meaning to complete my reread of this (Twokinds) so i can have a more clear understanding on my opinion since it's really fucking bad in the early sections but this reveal always kills me with emotions

You get out a bowl. OK cool. Maybe you accidentally thought cereal. Fine. You slice up some ham. OK we're making a sandwich again. We'll keep the bowl anyway, for all intents and purposes it works just as well as a plate. Then comes the apple juice. You looked at ham in a bowl, thought you should pour something, and that should be apple juice. You watched your hands pouring apple juice onto a bowl of ham and didn't think this was weird at all, you thought this was normal. Then you looked at it and thought "What's missing? some bread. no no, some toast. ham and juice needs toast". So you put bread into a toaster and waited. waited for toast. how many minutes waiting for that toast? 2 minutes impatiently watching the ham in apple juice. out comes the toast, on it goes, what's missing? yes, a teabag. you reached for your tea, (is your tea in a cupboard too?) brought out the teabag, put it on the toast, in a bowl. you look at your creation and say to yourself "why is my teabag not in a mug? because it goes in a bowl today for my boy. how's he gonna eat this too, by hands? haha no. fork? of course not. spoon? that's cute. no my boy needs the best and most underrated piece of cutlery. the knife. and not just any knife. of course he needs the steak knife. eat up boy."
