Four years ago, I was at a really low point. And then, @ijnr.bsky.social @sejorg.bsky.social turned my life around. Riding on a small boat along the South Texas Coast, I never would've thought we would outcompete ProPublica and Scientific American for a global journalism prize. But here we are.

#Wildfires are raging across the U.S. West, #Canada and beyond. 🔥 SEJournal’s latest Reporter’s Toolbox explores Watch Duty, a tool offering journalists timely wildfire data, emergency notifications and mapping resources. www.sej.org/publications...
A map of the United States displays numerous wildfire and incident markers, with a concentration of fire icons across the West. Below, text reads, “Wildfire Data, With Its Hair on Fire” and “SEJournal Reporter’s Toolbox,” alongside the SEJ logo.

As events in Minneapolis challenge our fundamental Constitutional rights, we remember that unflinching, fearless journalism is a cornerstone of our democracy. In this time of unrest, IJNR stands with the journalists across the nation who are doing the hard and vital work of holding power to account.
