It was closed when I visited in April, but according to their website it should open for visitors during summer. 000

It is only open on single day each year, 4th of June, which is his birthday. On other days it can be viewed from outside at Mikkeli station. 131

But long waiting times on the Swedish side! As an example, the first train arrives from Oulu to Haparanda on Sundays at 7:45, but the train to Boden leaves already at 7:40. 010

In most other countries it is disjointed short term planning and start-stop-replan… cycles. The Lausanne station modernisation programme is till 2037, over many electoral cycles. 010
