Unironically, this invokes the Hellenic tradition of body horror metamorphoses (e.g. Scylla, Cadmus etc.). My major point is, it had an intensely visceral aspect to it the later works tend to eschew in favour of instant, sanitized obfuscated transformations.

I wholeheartedly agree with every point she's made in her analysis of those games. I was planning to paint something Baldur's Gate 2 specific just so I had a pretext to post on the respective subreddit while giving them mods a vociferous rebuke for booting her out for speaking the truth!

Menta Na, lieutenant of Molag Bal embarrassed his master by taking a prolonged leave of absence to Mundus - to Vvardenfell of all places - to do not some destruction on the mortals but to lazy about in the cavernous ruins of Kora Dur. Eventually Bal employed a mortal champion to hunt Menta Na down.
