Christian Emmer @igir.io · 29/06/2026I had fun playing Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards this weekend. I don't remember many games using the N64 D-pad, but it works well for this game, though the controls don't feel very tight. The ability combinations are a ton of fun, definitely more inventive than a lot of Kirby games. 000
Christian Emmer @igir.io · 24/06/2026The Nintendo 64 was released 30 years ago today in Japan, so I spent the evening playing Starfox 64, gearing up for the rerelease. I filled in some of my collection a few weeks ago at the SoCal Gaming Expo. My brother and I rented a ton of games from Blockbuster but never owned a lot of these gems. 100
Christian Emmer @igir.io · 19/06/2026I'm probably 90% through Astro Bot (2014), but these games are really as good as the reviews say. Nintendo should learn how to do a pack-in again. 000
Christian Emmer @igir.io · 30/11/2025I liked Z-A. I thought the ending was weak and the story got in the way of the gameplay, but the gameplay was some of the most fun I've had with Pokemon. I'm interested in going back to Arceus (I know basically nothing about it). 000

Christian Emmer @igir.io · 26/07/2025My favorite part of Donkey Kong Bananza has to be the sub plot that every elder quit their day job to become a DJ. 000
Christian Emmer @igir.io · 20/07/2025I'm really enjoying Donkey Kong Bananza, but I can't STAND the word Teeleport and its voice line. 000
Christian Emmer @igir.io · 05/07/2025Tonight's game is Freedom Fighters for the GameCube. My brother had it on the PS2 growing up and we quite liked it back then. So far it's playing great with @darthcloud.blueretro.com's beta BlueRetro firmware that supports the NSO GameCube controller. Feels a lot better than the Exlene controller. 110
Christian Emmer @igir.io · 30/06/2025I was able to go to the @sega-west.bsky.social popup in LA's Little Tokyo today and picked up a pretty cool Dreamcast towel. Unfortunately, they were out of Dreamcast t-shirts. 010
Christian Emmer @igir.io · 28/06/2025Just release Igir v4.0.0 on GitHub: github.com/emmercm/igir... The main highlights are a visual overhaul (see gif), and TorrentZip & RVZSTD support. I'm very proud of the work that's gone into this release; it's a big one, and I'm grateful to those who have contributed to the project in some way. 110
