Danny has said this is the season where Cunning's effectiveness should be more noticeable & early days it's starting to show. For the 1st 7 games of s4: out of 382,019 PAs, 7,317 end in HBP (1 in every 52.10) 1st 7 games of s5: 356,666 PAs, 9,369 HBP (1 in every 38.07) Keep your eyes open!

I tested out giving Kennedy "One Trick Pony" Schmidt some more Control items. This wasn't his only game w/ the new equip, but his most recent .. a CGSHO. The diff? He still pounded down & inside, but less often to the outside and instead ... a bit more dead middle or lower middle. He's just weird.

So this is new, I'm reporting on a weird player of MY OWN. I noticed my recently recomposed pitcher only threw 1 pitch (slider). But I *also* noticed that a lot of his pitches hit the same zone; inside and low to righties. I mean, A LOT. Almost 40%! How is he getting away with this? :P

OMG. Just starting to pull up the pitch data, and was surprised to find a last minute name at the top of the pitch speed list. Then we looked up the details. The fastest pitch in S3 was a 144.7 MPH Cutter ... WHICH RESULTED IN A HIT BY PITCH. mmolb.com/watch/688267... 1/x

Uh, we have a developing situation here with two hours left. Mia Parks was retired whilst standing in RF towards the end of a game, but their lineup position didn't happen, nor did a ball head their way after that. So even though a callup was announced ... Mia is still playing as a Free Agent?!

3 hours, 3 games left in the Duel Under the Stars. It seems unlikely that we will get a Ship of Theseus scenario, as both teams have pretty healthy originals left: For 2%ers, Lais Ayers still has 45%. For Collisions, Rascal Kelly is a robust 65%. They are 2 of 8 originals still playing .. 1/x

Next day updates: Isaiah is no longer The Unbonked. He briefly swapped places with (the still alive!) 3D Stanley, took about 4 games at 1st, then swapped into a starting pitcher role. But he has taken 3 bonks, leaving him at 85% durability. The new original tough guys are 3 pitchers w/ 95%: 1/x

They are about to complete the 36th Duel Under the Stars game. Every original batter has retired and been replaced, and Stanley Demir I is dangerously close to being a twice replaced slot. No pitcher is below 75% durability, and the Collisions' closer Isaiah Blackwell has remained unbonked so far.

Ever heard of Pat Venditte? One of my fave RL baseball stories, Pat Venditte was a "switch pitcher", something that was only played at in MLB for a century. There's a rule on the books named after him! Well, in MMOLB, so many players exist that it can happen ... and it does! 1/x

Uhhh .. yeah. Something changed again. Doubles and triples went buh bye. Triples averaged 227 a day through Day 194 .. now in the last 4 Lesser League game days, there have been 128 total. Guess MMOLB doesn't like excitement! /jk

A reminder that MMOLB is still in early days, and Danny is doing adjustments on the fly ... the early s2 stamina change for pitchers didn't seem to do much to batting averages, but the code change using attributes yesterday sure did; from .258 to .302 for two days, then a change brought us to .199!

Ever heard of Pythagorean Win Loss? It's a simplistic formula that takes your Run Diff & calculates what your expected W/L record is based on that. If you win a few blowouts, but lose 1 run games, it feels unfair, doesn't it? Let's see who has a complaint, and who should be very quiet :) ... 1/x

The Topaz Lake Kobolds are 22-33. Not great, sure. But at 0-11, 6.20 ERA , their SP1 H. Maxwell is almost single handedly responsible for their under .500 record. Remember S0 clones? Did a little research based on a request in #stats-talk, and batters facing off against the pitching clones happened 99 times. Batters were .263, 9 2B, 3 HR (Alan Olson, Noodle Kim & Snow Sinclair). But Kristy Olson couldn't WAIT to plunk her clone. mmolb.com/watch/68131b...
