(2/2)...playdates set by myself & other parents, trips to bounce houses vs climbing trees in backyards. Trunk or treats vs knocking on doors. It's all sanitized, safe and we're all spread out. Nearest family is 1hr away. I am so sorry that my son doesn't get that same world. It was beautiful.

Same. My mom is one of 14 kids. I have 22 cousins. I'm an only child (and am fine with it, I actually prefer it). I grew up in a small town w/ grandparents as my day care providers. My bff was their neighbor. We ran from one backyard to the next all day. Now the world is all backyard fences... (1/2)

Seriously. They picked the wrong direction to go. Most sleep studies researchers say that brighter mornings/darker evenings are a better fit for us. Almost everything we do evenings can be done with modern lighting, except golf and of course the 🎃 only care about that. 🙄

And when you do find that one person who also loves the obscure music you love as much as you, it's super special. My coworker & I bonded over Stromae and it was so weird and fun. So I guess I find myself shrugging and go meh it's ok if we no longer have shared summer hits, long as we have music.

So I don't really give country or a few other genres a second glance usually. That sort of behavior really does make it hard for there to be a share experience. But I'm not entirely convinced that it's a bad thing. It can make it harder to relate but people can find other shares experiences...

Interesting read. I have noticed that when I was a kid I knew all sorts of different t songs from the radio. Hell I was a professional DJ for a few years. Now I don't turn on the radio at all. I don't do Spotify. And when I seek out new music I look for stuff similar to what I already listen to...

My aunt passed away from a brain aneurysm one night during a game night with family. Just said she had a headache and hit the floor. It's terrifying when we're reminded that this shit can just...happen. my thoughts, prayers and love go out to Pac's friends and family. It's not right & it's not fair.

Could have been anything. It could be his body couldn't handle staying in that shape, Could be a bad ticker, could be sleep apnea, could be an old fashion aneurysm. (My aunt said she had a headache hit the floor dead seconds later) Could slipped in the shower. Hug your loved ones. RIP Pac. :(

Progress. I'm about halfway through the cowl. I can see the raglan pattern for the shoulders, although I'm not 💯 convinced I'm doing the right size 😆, we'll see I guess! Watched 9 to 5 last week & the amount of smoking indoors didn't shock me, as I was a small child when it came out, but it did trigger memories of smoking vs "non smoking" sections at restaurants with no walls blocking the smoke and the old bowling alley haze (smoke). it's wild how fast I'd forgotten

My husbands childhood home is right beside a series of beaver dams. I e watched them work from the kitchen window. Best I can tell it's a combination of both. They know what they're doing but they are pissed as hell if any water has escaped their control. 😆

Thanks! That makes me feel better. My stitch gauge is dead on. But I was so worried about armpits (I have wide shoulders and armholes have been an issue in many an off the rack coat) and my chest is larger so sometimes sweaters need more length. Whole thing has me nervous 😆

Thanks! Ugh, right now my problem is just trying to get started and hit gauge. I've got the stitch count right but the rows are 4 short :/ tried a needle size down only gained one row 🤷. I did block my gauge swatch so I know how much give it will have but yeah now my brain is stuck 😆

(2/2) tried us5 and got 19/20 st with 27 rows. I've watched multiple yt videos on gauge. Some suggest adding stitches or knitting a size ⬆️ or ⬇️with stitch count issues, nobody says what to do with rows being long or short. I'm so confused.
