Artist’s note that you don’t need to listen to: I Headcanon Soldier as He/She. Her name is Jane doe, and he is male presenting. Idfk man. This idea actually came to me in a bout of insomnia last week, where I wrote down a draft of Soldier getting treated for lead poisoning. (Medicine was made for that in the 1930s while the game takes place in the 1960’s.) If enough people care then I’ll probably start working on it, but Ehh.

So it turns out the anatomy was wack. Still like how it came out, though.

Edward Hyde, crouched by the desk. Late at night, the moon pours in through the window, the glass panes slightly ajar and the curtains swaying dramatically. He’s clutching his chest, coughing up his magnum opus, his fix, his creation. The drink glew (glowed. Glew sounded better in my head and now I don’t want to fix it), dribbling down his face and staining his shirt. Hair tangled, wild, but his expression is not of dismay. He’s tired, struggling to keep himself upright in the moment. The poor man’s gaze, in focus, conscious, wholly at ease yet breathing heavily, looks to someone off screen. Looks to two people. He’s outed himself.

…This is probably as Open about my IRL self Ill be, but sometimes I get jump scared by the one in the mirror. Also I think I really like sideburns.

A drawing with IRL aspects. It’s of my bathroom, with my sona standing in front of the sink. The colours adjusted to be slightly off, shifting in the drawn portions.
In the mirror is as close to the IRL me as I am comfortable drawing. I am looking at the other side.
I am looking at how I see myself in my head. I am not that person. I Have a sort of struggle I don’t often hear about: There’s such a disconnect with my mind and my body. I think in animations. I digest information in animatics and drawings.
How I see myself in my head isn’t the one in the mirror. I know I’ll never be them, but I can try to get closer every day. I know i’m not healthy, but I’m trying. I swear to you I’m trying.

Mini-comic about Randy and Jekyll (i spun a wheel to make them interact) This takes place after their stories when I took em’ and had everything be a road trip.

A comic. The time is 12:33 AM, a camping scene. It’s quiet, the fire dying down before an older man. There’s a winged cat on his lap, him petting the creature.
It’s…
Calm.
Randy walks out of the tent before Jekyll, speaking quietly: “Y-ello.” It startled the man so much his instinct mirror cracks. “CHILL. It’s me.” immediately backtracking, Randy tries to calm the human down. “You’re not a night owl, Henry. Why are you still awake?”
Rattled slightly, he replied. “Maybe I wanted to see the fire die down?”
“Bull ShEEK!” the rabbit’s censored tone breaks through.
“I’ll never get used to that.”
Walking to the cooler, Randy yawned. “Spill it. I won’t judge. Something’s up. Speak or don’t. ‘M thirsty.”
There’s a close up on Henry’s face… he hesitates…
“Soot.” he relents.

Randy looks up from the cooler, hand hovering over the drinks. “Huh?”
“I collect soot from the fire.” the wood is close to char, almost down but still emitting light.
“wait, what?”
Jekyll shrugs, the camera zooming in on his hair. “I thought it was obvious.” His hair used to be pure black. Now he’s closer to a calico.
“‘ight. Well, since I’m here, what drink d’ya want?” Back to the cooler, Randy began to root around through the ice.
“Beer if it’s in the thing.”
“No more alcohol for you!” Randy shot it down immediately.
“And…” Henry sighed. “You took your vest off? and the bandage?”
Looking up and back at his front torso, “huh? Right, well…” Randy sighed. “I heal differently. This thing’s from years ago. I could say why, but it’s too long. It’s SHOCKING!” he laughed under his breath, before relenting. “Tazer. It was a tazer.”
Pointing to the older man, he continued. “-But, yeah. Need to let it breathe.”
“Interesting. I have a small question. You kept the bandana, Rabbit?”
“FEEK! yeah!” Once more, the curse caught the chat censorship.

Putting his hat back on, Randy continued. “I love my style, and i’ll be blasted if i change it.” Holding a water bottle and a soda can, he walked over to the log Jekyll sat on. “I got you water, by the way.”
Welcoming him on the makeshift couch. “Does it taste bad like mine?” He was from victorian england… water filters aren’t from his time.
“No! The rabbit laughed. “It’s actual water, not polluted. I know. You need to pay off the alcohol, Jayjay.” handing the water over, Randy smiled at the doctor, resting his paw on his shoulder.
Leaning against the toon’s shoulder, Henry spoke, barely above a whisper. “Why do you bother with me? I know nothing of your life and vice versa.”
They laughed. “You kiddin’? I love ya! ‘Won’t let you sit ‘ere alone.” pausing, they looked over their shoulder. “I know how off it can be, so I’ll keep by ‘ya.”

The camera moved to inside the tent Randy was looking at. Piper was sleeping inside, unknowingly the subject of Randy’s continued speech. “I won’t let you wake up alone. Not you. Not anyone here.”

Toon facts about my little man!!!
For Randy, He’s a toon! A cartoon!
For my idea, the older a toon gets, the more desaturated their colour palette gets. He is a mildly desaturated toon, so he’s about halfway through a toon’s natural lifespan.
It affects not only their ability to heal, but also to preform jokes and be zany.
Back when he was younger, he used to do many dangerous stunts like actually blowing himself up with acme dynamite. his injuries used to never last, but the ones that do come from serious scenarios.

Welcome to Soho! (featuring a new design Hyde)

It’s an alleyway drawing featuring the ever elusive Hyde. He’s sporting a new hairstyle: Longer with the roots growing in, tied back. I wanted the roots to drive the two closer together (Jekyll and Hyde) so I gave more lasting consequences. It’s a painterly aesthetic, in the dark, lit by a single street post.

This is supposed to look like the inside of a train car. There are supposed to be my characters in the seats and they would mostly just be chatting… Except for Robyn… because I gave his girlfriend a design (finally) Yes she exists. He’s not delusional.

Once more, my Jekyll and Hyde rewrite. This is in reference to the original story where Jekyll has… uhm… 4+ MEDICAL DOCTORATES??? I would simply die. Anyways, First panel: Jekyll stands in a white void. He is grayed out, with a thought bubble just saying: “BORED…”
Next panel is where the split comes in, with an Angelic Hyde on the right shoulder, and a Demon Jekyll on the left.
Third, Hyde is reading a book. He doesn’t even look up while saying: “Take cocaine and people-watch.” which is something I actually wrote him to do… not the cocaine, but the people watching.
In the fourth panel, Jekyll tells himself to get another PHD… if he did he probably wouldn’t survive.

The original by @Mallalada on tumblr. It made me laugh so I had to.

I was looking through my old files and found one of my original incarnations of Piper! This was back before all the shenanigans i did with her. Man… a lot has changed.

For context, I made piper as (originally) a self insert into the toontown universe. I drew her as a sort of prototype cog that was incomplete. Hence the arm. I didn’t want to make her a cringy self-insert (fuck that, be cringe) so I gave her anger issues and made her irritable by most things…
Except for working and being told what to do. She was good at taking orders, which meant nothing considering toons existed. I find it interesting looking back on her colors, but i think the broken chest piece is kinda weird. and the mouth. I think it limits expressions and how good the cloths fit together. I’m kinda glad I changed her, but i still find her previous design cool.

For context, no Jekyll is not. I’ve re-done the entire story in my own words so I’ll just say who’s who from right to left. Jekyll on the right, Utterson in the middle, Enfield on the left. Jekyll says: “On BOTH my friends, I am STRAIGHT.” Both look unamused.

They feign death and dying-ness, like saying exclamatory remarks about pain and headache.

They’re being silly. And Jekyll is trying to continue his denial and failing.

Yeah this is the one I got the idea from. It’s a TF2 thing. I’m still on TFtumblr
