mel🌱 @idleleaf.bsky.social · 11/08/2026I couldn't leave her to struggle. we took her back home and decided we will care for her until the end of her life span. working with her has been an amazing experience, and i can confidently say im not so scared of butterflies anymore 💚🦋 010
mel🌱 @idleleaf.bsky.social · 11/08/2026unfortunately, it was not long until her wings went back to how they were. she was missing vital parts of her top wings and i wasnt able to safely substitute it. We tried to release her, hoping maybe she could be a good climber despite this, but she was incapable of navigating on her own 110
mel🌱 @idleleaf.bsky.social · 11/08/2026when we were set to release them, i noticed one of the butterflies had trouble flying. upon closer look, her top wings were deformed, and not aligned properly. i couldnt stand by and let her suffer if there was something I could do. I worked with her hands on to examine her wings and realigned them 110
mel🌱 @idleleaf.bsky.social · 11/08/2026just a week ago, i wouldve said i am terrified of butterflies and moths. while i love and appreciate all living things, i couldnt help the fear of being around them. that was until we got a painted lady butterfly hatching kit for my niece 120
