I’m still a practicing Catholic out of necessity due to my job and living situation, but one of the reasons why I started to turn away was bc I was super Catholic yet guilty about being queer then learned SO MANY Catholics I knew did way worse things. So hypocritical

I still go to church (not super frequently) and there was a terrible anti-abortion, anti-marriage equality, anti-feminism, anti-divorce homily at Mass today and multiple women walked out. I wanted to walk out too but was with my mom (my mom knows my pro-choice, pro-marriage equality, etc. beliefs)

I live in Virginia and work and am unfortunately still pretty involved with the Catholic Diocese I’m in (that’s actually pretty conservative despite the location) and they’re shoving down our throats that we “must” vote against abortion and marriage equality and I might lose my mind
