but afaik the idea was too keep companies from cannibalising FOSS and giving nothing in return. In 1999 people were protesting for refunds in front of MS offices. It's always been political. But for privileged people, it's only political when they feel uncomfortable by realising they're privileged.

"FOSS is not political" always gets me. I've seen people use that to defend generative AI and i'm like - It started because hackers wanted hackable code but companies obfuscated everything. I remember when GPL3 came out, some people were annoyed because it was too restrictive,

bow (2018) The folks on the plains are known for their high quality bows, they’re even brought up on the old heroic tales. Wars have long been gone from this world, but some of the folk on the plains still make their bows the same way their ancestors did millennia ago.
