Idiomdrottning demonstrates a new and often cleaner way to solve most systems problems. The system as a whole is likely to feel tantalizingly familiar to culture users but at the same time quite foreign.

After seeing distressing news on TV, Captain America yelled out "The Walkers?!? Ma and Pa!! Those buzzards nabbed my Ma and Pa!!" and he immediately picked up thephone to call his commissioner. "Commissioner? This is Captain– no, no we haven't. Something important's come up, sir, I need to take some time off. You see my parents have been– What's that?" and he grnched the phone receiver to pieces with a frustrated yell of "Gaah!!"

Battle Star put out his hands in a calming gesture and asked him "He- he won't let you take off, I take it!" and Cap replied "Doesn't matter. I'm going anyway!"

All in a sequence of five comics panels from Captain America #345 by Gruenwald and Dwyer.

Walking on the streets of New York (complete with the vigilantes Cloak & Dagger in the background), Peter Parker thought to himself: "How anyone could become so hooked on something so overwhelming… so destructive… is beyond me!". In a comics panel from Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-Man #81.

Playing Rebellion board game with @reverse ! But we gave up after four hours with no winner. Jan Dodonna was captured the entire game. The rebel cell was on Mon Calamari and the rebel base was on Utapau. I was the rebels and I’ve never seens such a banger […] [Original post on idiomdrottning.org]
A map of the galaxy far far away, upside down since it's from the rebel perspective. Mon Calamari has a rebel cell target marker and Jan Dodonna is imprisoned on Ord Mantell. The photo is from when there "only" was one Death Star. It's on Rodia.

[LodeRunner] Last time this happened in this exact same spot on level 14 (my PB), I was on my last life so it wasn’t that big of a deal. But here the run ended with nine lives that’ll all go to waste. The problem is that the character (the white stick […] [Original post on idiomdrottning.org]

Coincidentally I was reading this comic as I listened to that.
A tired reporter came home to his partner, Prema. He told her the BBC had turned into a dumbed-down fascist dictatorship so Prema said "Sit down, Aubrey Jean. I'll fix you a drink". All in a comic book panel by Milligan and Sampson. Hit-Girl in India chapter one (i.e. Hit-Girl Season Two issue 9).

"You know YouTune and TikTak?" Satsuki said on a lazy couch day, and in her brother Hodaka's mind examples flashed like a gotcha pranked video, a song cover, and a fan shoutout. Satsuki went on, with a thoughful expression: "I don't like how they push their recommendations without my input." While eating granola, she said "Feels like I've lost when they show me a video they think I'll like." Hodaka comment that "Moments like these make me realize you're really my little sister." All in two comics panel from _Let me be single in peace_.

Akari's phone screen said "I told you to come home early today" with an angry bear sticker. Akari showed it to Ayano, explaining that the message was from "My niece." She went on to say that "I had notifications turned off" as the next message from the niece read "We're having a birthday party without the birthday girl" with an unplayed video attachment under. Akari continued "She even sent a powerfully angry video. She really is my niece" and Ayano said "You should head home then. In four comics panels from _Even Though We're Adults_.

I want to refuse BankID because I don’t think it’s right for our society to require citiizens to be customers of Google or Apple and to be customers of the proprietary corporate bank consortium that made BankID. “Boycott” isn’t the right word for it […] [Original post on idiomdrottning.org]
Screengrab from a video on BankID's own web page stating that you do need NFC.Three comics panels from Lovely People where a bunny can't use her phone anymore. Phone says "Oops, there is no citizen ID on this device. Attempt to log in?" with a paw, eye, and help icon underneath. The bunny tries and the phone says "fingerprint not recognized" and then "pawprint not recognized".

The eponymous Saki explained: "I don't have a computer or anything…" while looking embarrassed. Mahjong Saki, not Sredni Vashtar Saki.
