"mulkvisti" = "mulkku" (penis, vulgar) + "kvist" (stick, twig) dickstick.

Ice Wolf @icywolfy.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

*squints at meme* yea... that's a good way to get punched, calling someone a dick-stick.

if not wipe it out, they may offer a decent payment plan term. I was put on a $50/mo payment plan for five years. the billing dept was willing to go down to $20/mo for 10 years.

big cats will do inexplicable cat things but bigger. and with fewer willing to spritz 'm in the face with water. ... I can so picture you squirting him with water. Then with spray bottle still in hand, silently staring him down daring him to continue.

C++ isn't always that bad. Modern CMake (3.15+) and C++ (2017/2020) is quite nice tbh. but then, software dev in video game industry has been my full time job for over 10 years -- could also be a little Stockholm syndrome in there.

yep, in time, it's heavily flight mode. obligations and tasks very much flight or fight. if I don't pick a side, then it's uncomfortable anxiety. if deadline looks likely infeasible, then flight mode kicks in hard, and it nigh impossible to get back on track.

I was the same this morning. Coffee, coffee cake, and getting into a (fiction) book for an hour helped. Now I'm intentionally procrastinating, but at full speed.

I feel this statement. Container Store and Starbucks across parking lot from work. Daiso a block over next to a grocery store. I've wanted to redo my bed/bathroom multiple times since transferring offices 5 months ago; Thankfully prevented by the non-existent carrying capacity of a sport bike.

Ice Wolf @icywolfy.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

for tonight: keep water and pain killers by your bed, already taken out of the bottle, ready to go. Waking up: Pain killers 'll be out of your system, no pain. Then half awake instinctually move your arm before you remember you shouldn't. Putzing with a pill bottle while swearing with pain sucks.

Ice Wolf @icywolfy.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

yep. Day two was the worst. At least for me, I didn't need oxy past the first week. Down side, day 7ish was when I started to work on actually straightening my arm. I was advised to not take pain killers so I'd feel where my limit was. a pillow on my hand never felt so painfully heavy.

Megaplex was fun. I didn't quite get away from the background stress of Work and into a vacation mindset. My social battery is quite drained, and I look forward to a couple days of being offline.

Ice Wolf @icywolfy.bsky.social · 06/04/2026

i could have sworn that they sold them at the campus art store 25 years ago. but with no specific name other than (brush/pencil) holder, its practically unsearchable. maybe call the supply store at an animation school,( SCAD? CalArts? ) and ask if a buyable thing

One of the better photos I've taken. Title: "Yes, Dear."

Photograph of two lions. On the right is a lioness, and she appears to be snarling at the lion on the left. The lion on the left has his head hung and eyes closed, as if he knows he's done something wrong and his partner is angry at him.

Forgot to zip my jacket pocket this afternoon after signing the lease. I lost my wallet (and key to new place) somewhere on the 55mi of 92/880/80 between new place and old place. x.x and of course that means I can't rent a car/truck to actually move my stuff until a replacement DL is mailed out

I have been much happier since the day I took a 50% pay cut to work in a field I enjoy at an employer that is chill and generally low stress. I reach my 10 year anniversary here later this year.

I wish the SF Bay area had more (any) coffee shops open late. I really want to work some please else in the evening hours rather than mere feet from hot shower and bed. San Diego was nice this way, 24 hour coffee shop and pastries was surprisingly lively at 1am on random weeknights
