There. 2 x 2 TB M2 (Kingston) drives i can use for backup. One is physically stored elsewhere for redundancy. The best part is the speed: 700 MB/sec which means i can do a full backup of all my VMs i use for work in _minutes_. I was one of those admins […] [Original post on infosec.exchange]

Yupp - getting much higher speeds on a USB-C 3.2 interface, from ~150 MB/s to almost 400 MB/s.

Just finished oiling up my second katana (blue Saya, got it today). Like the previous one it's made from T10 carbon steel so it is very sensitive to human fat, rust and the Saya is REALLY sensitive to damage. Yeah, that's right, Katanas are really sensitive if treated badly.

Oh no, not #Dustin. OTOH, i haven't bought anything there for over 10 years. I wonder why they just don't drop PII as it is not needed anymore, keeping ledgers for bookkeeping is not THAT strict, it only requires a few years of transactional data, and they can keep that offline.

dustin .se got pwned. Lots of old data, including mine that is > 10 years old. I can't even remember when i bought something from them.

#benchmark #ramdisk vs #m2 drive. Note, the M2 drive had Veracrypt on it, but honestly if it didn't, the Ramdisk would still beat it.

Cool, didn't know that there were PCI express host cards that offers a new M2 drive slot on them.

Interesting how storage media is sold as the traditional MB, GB, TB, but the actual storage space is "We invent our own fucking measurement migabubite". Missing: 36 Gigabyte. Not an insignificant amount of storage space.

Sheeting a Katana is an unnerving thing to do. Have slid the sword over the Saya in an improvised fashion and has so far kept all my fingers intact (and arms, hands and everything else on my body). Saw a video showing how to sheet it properly, it involved […] [Original post on infosec.exchange]

Latest in my coin restauration efforts, after 2 dips in cocacola+water for a few days, the coin now looks like this. It started out as a blackened cupper coin that also had some blue-ish gunk on it, don't ask me what it was, but now it looks better. I'm […] [Original post on infosec.exchange]

So... apparently it didn't take much code to do this. All i need is to read the .srt files into a string array (system.io.file.readalllines) and parse the timestamp entries as DateTime with a user provided that does .AddSeconds(offset, like -15 in my bcase)
