The inspiration for Rose and Jack’s final scene in James Cameron’s Titanic, this hand-carved wooden lounge panel fragment comes from the arch over the entrance to the First Class lounge, the exact area where RMS Titanic broke in half, which explains its shattered edges.

These jaw bones come from a 272-kilogram Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) that was caught in a fish weir near Economy, Nova Scotia. Great Whites are rarely spotted in the Bay of Fundy and are listed as endangered by the Canadian Species at Risk Act.

Thomas F. Baxter was a 48 year-old Linen Steward aboard RMS Titanic. His body was found by the crew of CS Mackay-Bennett and was buried in Fairview Lawn Cemetery. Like other #Titanic victims buried in Halifax, the White Star Line paid for the black granite grave marker.

For some of those who lost their lives aboard the ill-fated RMS Titanic, Halifax, Nova Scotia is where their story came to an end. Our citizens took on the grim responsibility of providing victims of the sinking with a final place to rest. #Titanic #Halifax
