I glance towards the driveway when I hear the truck and Jace and then slowly head back inside, taking my shoes off before going into the kitchen. I take the bread out of the bread machine and stir the soup before clearing off the counter space so the supplies and groceries can be put down.

I finish making the dragon and set it down in the chair next to me before getting to my feet. I put my shoes on and leave the cabin, wrapping my arms around myself as I walk down the dock. I stand at the end and stare at the water.
